So they are now officially killing the Viper's value. Thank God I also have an ACR. But that leaves me with two other Vipers that are taking a huge dive (I know a car is not an investment). Dodge please, please, please stop producing the Viper. We don't want worthless cars...even if they mean something to us (intrinsically). One day we might want/(God forbid) need to sell them...:(, and we don't want to compete with Dodge on a $50K 2010 Viper.

It is crazy to think they would produce a car that brings low to no revenue, discount the crap out of it, and think current owners should be happy the car is still in production. Offering the car in different colors is not going to sell that many more, it will only please a few, and only very short term (they will expect the huge discounts you are currently offering) :blah:.

You are killing the very group that supports you.

i agree with you,its time to stop making the viper,20-25k off sticker what a huge loss to chrysler and the previous viper owners.while zr1 is still getting sticker and more what a joke

Well, if you had a home you had to sell, and the market wasn't moving it, you might sell it at a loss. The neighbors might be pissed, but it's your money to do with as you please. I'd bet any one of you would be the first to say "screw the neighbors".

Same with Dodge and the Viper. They have lots of commitment in place. Production line up and running, parts in the stream, jobs on the line, cars in the lots. So they discount and sell at a loss. Better than folding up completely. As a Viper owner, you might be as pissed as the neighbor undercutting home values. But I suggest you move on. This is just business, plain and simple.

What kills me is that some people complaining about this have three (or more Vipers) they are not even in the market to sell. They are just complaining about a loss on paper. When you people lose a job, a limb, or something meaningful, then you can whine all you want.

As predicited at thread start, I just verified that EP pricing for everyone, plus 0% CF Financing for highly-qualified buyers, DOES apply to DEALER STOCKS of 08-09 Vipers except ACR. {Not New '09 Orders.} Subj to Dealer Participation. Offer WILL expire.

Example: MSRP $101750 Loaded = $90238 EP
MSRP $93205 Striped = $82802 EP

So these are about $10.5k-$11.5k off MSRP after any eligible $1000 Loyalty-CF rebate.

its all good. once the showrooms are empty, then the deals will not be there, thus, the value should stop falling and start rising again. just buy them now, if you can.

It's obvious whom you are complaining about. I could be jobless...do you claim to know me? Do you want to buy my Cooperhead at a premium...I'd love to sell it to you personally.

You only care about those you think deserve a fair price (those that have more should be punished I guess)..."people " who "lose a job, a limb, or something meaningful".

I don't have to be happy with what Dodge is doing. It is my right as a Viper Club member to post my distaste for their actions. Did you know that they are not offering these same discounts to the Challenger SRT8 in my state, so they can keep the values high (I find that to be crap). These are just my opinions...my right to free speech. If you want to continue to attack me personally...fine. But I just want to inform you that this is my last response to you personally. I'm not gonna fight with you over the Internet. You keep pointing your finger at me...why not response to others whom agree with me.

All things must come to an end...just like my responses to you.

I think the way this particular deal works is the "Employee Price" already takes the holdback into account (EP = Invoice - Holdback - Group funds - Owner Loyalty). Then, any consumer incentives are applied to EP (Chrysler Financial bonus cash, other consumer cash rebates). The way the dealer makes money is after the sale - I think they get reimbursed 6% of the Employee Price (minus destination fees and group funds).

So, I don't think there's any room to negotiate below the EP for this deal. I just wish it applied to ACRs. I guess I'm going to have to wait to see what happens later on - or hopefully stumble across a great deal on an '08 Black/red stripe ACR :)

I agree 100%, I bought one at Roanoke last week and I think they are selling fast because there were a bunch that had sold signs on them.

Whatever, CarDude. You're pissed that the prices are being dropped by the dealer cause it hurts your resale. In the same breath you say its BS that the prics on SRT Challengers are being inflated. Which is it? Maybe both, maybe neither. My point is, its just business. Sorry to have gotten bugs all up in your grill.

The 1000 loyalty does not apply to Vipers. The 0% is for WELL qualified buyers. We are talking A+ tiers. Having said that there is Employee Pricing on 08-09 Vipers with $125 Chrysler Admin fee i.e:
09 Aero white/viperblue coupe MSRP $103,410- EP- $91526 plus 125 admin fee (chrysler)= 91651. 11759 off.
VOI10- 88911 plus 125 fee= 89036

Again as you stated correctly above ACRs do not qualify nor ordered units. Current stock only.

Based upon this significantly reduced pricing, if i was looking for a car to track, would I be better off buying an 08 coupe and adding acr components then buying acr?

If you're just talking about brakes/shocks/tires - most likely yes. If you want to add the Aero stuff, then probably not unless you found an aero car to start with... They're even rarer than the ACRs - so I don't know if I'd want to track one of those and really let loose with it. I'm getting old, though.

I'm seeing different feedback from differnt dealers, one who provided me with the program sheet which I have in front of me now. Under the Bonus Program column, for SRT8 Challengers and Vipers, there is a blank (in fact, the only blanks are under the Viper, SRT8 Challenger and SRT8 Charger). I've been told that means there is no $1000 CF cash and no 0% financing on these cars. Anyone have documented info that shows different?

everyone has there own opinions and they should be respected, i for one think if there going to discount vipers srt8 challengers should be also.alot of us including myself have paid over90k plus for our vipers to see them go down is sad,also things are not well for alot i agree including myself i have put lots of money back into my business for losses for the last 6 months

Currently no discount on Challenger SRT8s, and why do it, since in most parts of the Country they are selling well. The Dealer can simply pull up a matrix on the vehicle and see it is not applicable to EP, hence neither is the 0% available, and if he is foolish enough to give a consumer all discounts, then that is his problem for not doing his due diligence.

Viper sales that get the 0% for 48 months are going to be very, very high tiered consumers, and may even need money down at the EP pricing.

It does not show Viper on any Loyalty Rebate Form or $1000 back for financing. These items are model specific, and only include certain models.

It is confusing to read and with Chrysler , not open for interpretation, so if you ( as a Dealer ) get it wrong, be prepared to pay them back if you didn't follow all the program guidelines.

THAN Buy an ACR. NO ! Why eat the new-car depreciation on a TRACK CAR?

You said "FOR A CAR TO TRACK"

You can buy a used SRT-C , and shocks, rotors_lines+pads, tires and a wing and have a Helluva Track car! And NO depreciation loss as if you buy 08-09 to convert for track.

What is also missing: 100 HP

I'm seeing on printouts direct from Chrysler that the SRT8 Challenger is included in the ep program, just not in the $1K Chrysler Financial credit and no 0%. Programs may differ regionally, but I think this is national from my understanding. I also understand, as stated before, that a dealer cannot exclude one type of vehicle while offering ep on others (ie forbidden to exclude the SRT8 Challengers and Vipers if they want to sell minivans at ep). Around here, there are several SRT8 Challengers - six speed and auto - available. Most have names on the stickers and were built for someone who then backed out of the deal - obvious economy hit...

Evidently the dealers who can move their SRT 8 Challengers are deciding not to participate??? Which they have absolutely every right to do.

But if people are seeing printouts directly from Dodge showing SRT 8 Challengers eligible for the EP then that appears to be accurate unless they are misreading them?

Looks like I need to hunt down a nearby dealer who can't move their SRT 8 Challengers? Which would be every Dodge dealerin Vegas. Then I have to find someone to install a SC.

'the deal could be' ???? CDude, I am truly confused as to your true opinion. On one hand you were/are clearly complaining about depressed Viper prices...... and yet when I post some real-world examples you are also then complaining they are not low enough?

Like GR8ASP sez: There have only been a few RARE times when Vipers carry any incentives.....and THIS IS IT.....

Every new car with the exception of a few new Ferrari's and perhaps the Ford GT goes through a normal depreciation cycle. In the near term these incentives cause a decline in new Viper values but not in the long run. More importantly the incentives allow people who may not normally be able to afford a high dollar discretionary item like the 600 HP Viper in the worst economy in our lifetimes to acquire one.

I bought my 08 SSG coupe real early last year and paid for that right. It doesn't diminish the car unless I need to sell right now. Heck I am considering picking up an 09 Vert at 0% and EP just because the cars are so amazing and we will NEVER see a car and car owner experience like the Viper again.

Lets not forget throughout automotive history numerous iconic collector cars couldn't be given away when new such as CSX 2000 and 3000 Cobras and 65 GT 350s and too many more too list.

I am not saying they are not low enough. I was not sure if it was a rebated price or a fixed price. I have already seen many Viper for invoice, I was confused about the EP. Glad to see the incentive is not a rebate to get the cars down to EP.

Question. So once the program is over...honestly who is going to be willing (knowing that incentives were available for 2009s in the first month of 2009) to pay anything near MSRP in the short term?

Jan. 22 (Bloomberg) -- Chrysler LLC, the third-largest U.S. automaker, will offer no-interest loans, rebates of as much as $6,000 and price discounts normally given only to employees to help clear out unsold vehicles at its dealerships.
The incentives start Jan. 26, with employee pricing offered on all models, the Auburn Hills, Michigan-based company said in a statement. Dealers were told of the plan in a conference call today, said Mickey Anderson, owner of Performance Automotive Group in Omaha, Nebraska.
Chrysler has been stepping up incentives since its finance arm, Chrysler Financial, received a $1.5 billion U.S. government loan on Jan. 16. That day, the automaker announced interest-free financing for as long as five years on 11 models. Chrysler’s U.S. sales plummeted 30 percent in 2008, including a 53 percent decline in December.
Company President Jim Press said on Jan. 11 that Chrysler’s December sales were 25 percent lower than they would have been because customers didn’t have adequate access to credit.
The no-interest loans from Chrysler Financial will be for as long as four years, the automaker said. The rebates include as much as $6,000 on 2008 vehicles and up to $3,500 on 2009 models.
Customers also can get $1,000 in extra cash when the vehicle is financed through Chrysler Financial or a local credit union, Chrysler said.

I was told no - no $1000 CF or loyalty rebate, and no consumer cash came up when Viper VINs were run through the system. Just Employee Price + $125. That was yesterday, though, and things seem to be changing often. Call Bill at Woodhouse or Ben at Pt. Lavaca - they both seem to be straight-up guys and will give the straight scoop.
