Recommended brand of short throw shifter?

MGW all the way, I had one on my previous car ('04 Cobra) and it was the best shifter I've ever had. It made the 2-3 upshift flawless everytime and every shift felt more positive. I never missed a gear with the MGW, I missed the 2-3 upshift a couple of times on the stock Cobra shifter. MGW is...

    DLM Paxton Question

Doug Levin has a great reputation as the best tuner in South FL and one of the most knowledgable tuners in the country. I vouch for his work and will be taking my car in for a little forced induction fun. PS: the lastest rumor is he is working on a Twin Turbo SRT kit, check out the site.

Gas Guzzler Tax Viper Vs. Challenger

I would go a step farther and say that the SRT Viper would get all around better fuel economy than the new Challenger if you have a low restriction exhaust and intake installed on the Viper.

    K&N

The 14 HP gain comes from K&N'c Cold air intake for the SRT. Most see an 8-10 RWHP gain using the K&N cold air intake. The filters alone should be good for 5 hp if stock and 10 hp with supporting mods such as exhaust. The K&N filters and the green filters are pretty much the same. K&N is...

    Gen 3 oil change tips

On my 06 coupe, after draining all the old oil, I used 10 qts on my first oil change, gave it plenty of time to settle down. When I measured, it was slightly over the full indicator, maybe a 1/16" over. I drove home, let it cool down, measured again and it was just over the full indicator. I...

    Brake Pad Life

I haven't driven mine hard enough or long enough to know how long the pads last, but I would speculate that if your not constantly slamming the brakes at 150mph+ and you don't track the car, they should last 25K-35K miles before obvious wear is noticed.

    LO-TIRE light

Did you measure the pressure with warm tires or cool tires? If your tires were warm when you measured them, then the pressure dropped a lot when the tires cooled off and it would read low tire after they cooled off. Measure and inflate your tires with the tires cool. If that does not work then...

    Reading between the lines....

Re: The axe is coming Let the Viper Era come to an end and watch the value of your car increase in just a couple years. Then with the money you make from selling your Viper, you can get a 201X sports car with all the great technology that will become available. Pretty soon, every sports car...

An already rare color combination just made even rarer...

A little bit of bond-o and the rest should buff right out... What's left of that car should have sold for no more than $18K.

Hey , where did the blown motor thread go?????????

I went to check it today and it got deleted by the moderator. I was having a lot of fun as well. Your friend V10KingSnake is a riot, I love catching him in his lies on a public thread. It throws his credibility right out the window.

    Question for FLA owners,,,

I've lived in FLA my whole life and none of my cars have never had the weather affect how the bare metal parts of my cars look. However I do have some of my friends who live in the keys and closer to the beach who own older cars. I have noticed some rust under these cars, mostly chasis and...

Looking for feedback on Hoosier 345/19

I am looking for a track tire for the stock-sized 19 inch rim on my 06 coupe. I need a sticky rear tire and I'm not willing to sabatoge my parking brake in order to make way for an 18" rim. The stickiest tire I can find are the Hoosiers. I want some feedback on these tires. I intend to use them...

    Need traction help

Mike, I don't think there is a slick for 19" but they do have the Hoosier A and R compound which I think will hook a lot better than any other 19" currently offered. I just wonder if that tire is too much for the stock suspension. I don't think changing just tires at the track would be a problem.

    Need traction help

derek, the tire you recommend is an excellent tire but its unavailability in a 19" size creates another problem for me. I live far from the track and don't like the idea of having to change tires and take out the parking when I get there. I just want to know everything that needs to be upgraded...

    Need traction help

Mike, thanks for the recommendation on tire pressure for street and track, I will try the launch technique of launching right above idle as well. I would like to know in full detail what needs to be changed/upgraded in the suspension and drivetrain to safely run a Hoosier or stickiest possible...

    Need traction help

Wasn't very cold, about 60 F. I was running the runflats at 24 psi. Mike, you had a nice 60 ft on the runflats, did you do that stock or with your current power? I am considering the PS2's more now unless someone can show me an improvement over the PS2's with another tire. I wouldn't mind buying...

    Need traction help

I went to the ¼ mile track on Wednesday and I couldn’t run a better time than 12.3 @120mph in my bone stock 06 coupe. I ran only 12 second passes that night and all of them trapping at 120 mph. I found myself spinning 1st 2nd and even some of 3rd. My best 60’ was 2.0-2.1, I need a stickier tire...

    Dyno Results with 200 Shot

I have considered many times the route you took with the wet kit since I already have a GM wet kit off an 02 T/A from a couple years back that can be easily modified to work on my srt-10. I haven't done this yet because as I did research on big shot wet kits, I noticed many SRT-10 owners tend to...

    Dyno Results with 200 Shot

burnhamb, What convinced you to go with a wet nitrous kit instead of say a propane-nitrous kit? I'm assuming the more attractive price tag of the wet kit was what sealed your deal. My reason for asking is that most SRT-10 owners that I have spoken to about nitrous believe that any Wet kit with a...

    SRT-10 heads

That is very impressive N/A, can you elaborate more om Joe Donovan and PBJ Performace? They charged you around $2500 for a port with larger valves that flows just within greg good stage 3 specs? What about the cam, what was everything you installed? How much did you end you spending on the long run?
