What is the DLM acronym referring to when discussed with Paxton s/c's? I've done a search and can't find anything. Is it an upgrade for the Paxton setup? If so, could somebody include the details and price please?

Thanks in advance,

Justin

As V10 said, Its Doug Levin Motorsports and he is out of Florida. He does very nice work supercharging Viper, Lambo's etc. Very nice guy, will spend time on the phone with you answering questions.

When people refer to DLM S/C, most likely he did the work. But there are alot also who have just bought some of his upgrades. He has a modified belt tensioner for the Paxton, helps with belt slippage. He also has a intercooler, that is lighter/bigger and helps cooling to battle heatsoak that is common with a supercharger.

Thanks for the info guys! Could you elaborate a little on the belt tensioner? What exactly does it do and how much does it cost?

I picked one up and it ran about $250. It doesn't seem like a whole lot but apparently it helps a lot.

I have his tensioner and cooler as well. One benefit of the tensioner not stated thus far is that you have a pin on the back of the tensioner pulley that comes from Paxton. If you ever detension your belt with the paxton supplied tool and bear down to much to relive the tension you will shear that off pin off. It happened on mine. The DLM tensioner makes that need for that pin irrelevant.

Someone mentioned price of tensioner, but I think its $ 295 and the intercooler is $600 or so, I think I got both shipped for $950. Well worth it if you want the most out of a Paxton.

Although I dont have one yet, I understand that there are Paxton setups, then there are DLM Paxtons set ups.
I dont have a Doug Levin system, but when my Viper would not start one day on a Sunday I called him. He was at a ball, but stepped out to walk me through how to get my Viper back up and running, even though I had never bought anything from him.

Helluva stand up guy! (oh, and makes about the best Paxton system for Vipers on the planet!)

Mike so does this mean you purchased the paxton for yourself? If so, good for you.

Keith, thats exactly the way doug is. i must have caled him 10 times while installing my used DLM kit. didnt buy it from him. he was so helpful you have no idea. i never spent a penny with him at that point either. he was just happy to help a fellow viper owner.

i have a funny feeling he's gonna get a few of my dollars this time though..... :)

Doug is a class act for sure. I have never heard a person upset that they went in his direction. Given the time he has been around working on these cars that is saying something.

I called and spoke with Doug yesterday and he was impressively friendly and informative...smart approach to getting my business. This upgrade will be in my near future as soon as I prioritize my future mods in order of importance (or want).

Take care ya'll

I have done 2 Viper builds with Doug. His expertise & knowledge of Vipers is second to none. His patience with helping and walking you through a problem is invaluable. When it comes time for my next build where do you think I would bring my car. It really is a no-brainer. Dougs the best. After 27,000 miles on a 900rwhp set up I have had zero problems. If you are looking for the same results call Doug.

I am running 15lbs boost on a very conservative tune with forged internals, heads and a cam. The 920rwhp numbers were taken on a 98 degree day, air filter connected, heat soaked engine & running 93 octane. I have run back to back times of 10.40, 10.43 & 10.45 all in 20 minutes with street tires(19 Pirellis). The engine that DLM built is very consistent and I still have not had a single problem other then changing the stock clutch @25,000 miles.

Doug Levin has a great reputation in S. Florida, and around the entire Viper (VAC) community.
He is a good standing member of this forum, and he also has an annual S. FLA Viper party at his house every year around the holidays.

I don't know him personally, but EVERYTHING I have heard about him is so positive, I would take my car to him with no questions asked.

Doug Levin has a great reputation as the best tuner in South FL and one of the most knowledgable tuners in the country. I vouch for his work and will be taking my car in for a little forced induction fun. PS: the lastest rumor is he is working on a Twin Turbo SRT kit, check out the site.

I have attended one of the VCA Christmas party at Dougs house and had a blast. Good food, good music and of course that S. Florida weather.

Doug has already turned out several twin turbos SRT's omore101. I also had the pleasure of seeing 2 Murci's undergoing a TT transformation at his shop. Rare to see these 2 cars side by side ripped apart and awaiting turbo's.
