Re: Poor quality leather on driver\'s seat
Good argument for the Connelly(sp?)leather option??? I think I'm seeing that in 335's 2001 saph snake. No issues with mine. My 5 cents. Dump the penny.
The owners manual is not much help for adding coolant to a low tank. There's got to be a better way. The overflow is almost empty. Can fluid be added to the pressure tank when cold. Is there a set fill level in the press tank when cold? Also how far do you go to pamper your Snake. I use a clear...
6 mos? 6 mos? No way! You had to run it around the block or sometin' Nobody's got that much control. Tell us you at least started it up. Once you get aquainted it's a fairly civilized beast.....to a point. And it steers real quick. Sh*t I'm loggin' out and goin' for a run. Happy trails.
The Ohio American GP was won by two Vettes and not a Viper in sight. Kinda sad. Unless I missed something, Vipers weren't in contention anywhere. Go figure.
Another thing I do when the top is in storage to protect the edge (one accident and it's a repaint) is to run pipe foam around the top edge and down the sides (they're 6' long). The foam is similar to the pool stuff but smaller and way cheaper and already slit. It's used to insulate water pipe...
Called JB about a wheel I curbed to get a replacement. Could have sold me one but suggested careful Dremel/polish treatment. Worked! You'd never know I curbed it. :2tu:
I'd pass on the car. Too many little problems that could cost$$$. There're plenty of RT10's in that mileage range that would be in better shape. Ditto on the Carfax.
This stuff is fun to find. It's all over mine. A lot is assembly code, quality control and supplier tags. I've restored a # of '70, '71 Mopar muscle cars. When doing a proper resto all the marks are recorded and faithfully replaced. They used daubs of paint colors to indicate drive ratios...
Jeez guys, the jack point is a welded link that accepts the factory jack profile 14" in front of rear tire and 4" behind front tire as clearly illustrated in owners manual. Look in the i-n-d-e-x under c-h-a-n-g-i-n-g tire.
There's a reason that kind of stuff is hard to get and it goes back to collector/muscle cars. Vettes in particular and now the Mopars. Mopars were immune for a long time because of the fender data plate. Now anyone can get a repro data plate that says anything as well build sheet copies, etc...
Yeh, it's always a dicey operation. They also make a phillips with screw retainer prongs that electronic shops carry that sometimes help, especially installing.
Lost the screw in my 2000 hood. Fell down to the hinge plate area. Used small mag to locate screw (you can hear it). Then use a light gauge wire that's easily bendable (3 or 4 feet) with mag on end and snake it down thru any access hole to where screw is. Mag will grab screw and you can...
Let's give credit to TKTPLZ for most innovative response. And not to overlook Phonecian Pharaoh Towels. If that doesn't work out there's always...what else? Ebay! Fieldcrest/Cannon aplenty.
Re: She\'s a virgin again
Hey Jon, If clearcoating even seems necessary I'll probably mask and blend with Eastwoods "nylack". Supposed to be hard as diamonds. I meant "virgin" in the ephemeral sense, as life is transitional, and we all yearn to be born again and discover our lost innocense...
She\'s a virgin again
Used some of your suggestions to get my curbed wheel (stock) back to specs. Didn't bother taking wheel off and started out with a Dremel to smooth out the worst of the rash. Using a 3m hard rubber pad I wet sanded from 320 up to 2500 and finished off with a Dremel buff...
G.V., thanks for the tip. I was guessing something along those lines. One of these cold winter days I'll try that. The snake's in deep hibernation now; good time. And yes, Viperbite, it will definitely be something STUPID. Like backing up narrow driveway and not paying attention. It's like a...
