    Gen 2 Subwoofer Replacement

It would depend on the impedance rating you got. You can wire the coils of a DVC in series or in parallel to get different impedances to match what you need. So for instance if you have a 4 ohm DVC (each coil being 4 ohms), you can wire them in series for an 8 ohm load or in parallel for a 2...

    GEN 3 2006 Rims

I don't think it probably matters that much, but are you sure they were even modified? The stock rims were polished aluminum with a clear coat over it I believe, which can go hazy over time and kind of looks like what is on your rim, but hard to say without seeing in person.

GEN 3 2006 AC Heat Controls

I would think earlier versions should be okay. Typically speaking the two letters at the end of a part number denote revisions, not necessarily new designs. It could be something like a material change, a vendor change, etc. but the vast majority of companies only revise parts if they are...

    Tracking viper

I don't have any experience with a gen 5 on the track, but I think they are pretty well sorted from the factory as far as I'm aware. As for the "running costs", generally speaking I think the Viper is pretty good. Tires are going to be the worst of it and will vary a lot based on your driving...

    Stock rear diffuser colors?

I've never seen a hood graphic like that before on a stock car, but I'm constantly learning new stuff about these cars, so it's entirely possible. Have you got any more info on the car like year or VIN? I was looking at the Viper registry to see if there was any mention of that as an option...

    Stock rear diffuser colors?

That looks like a VCA edition car, though it's missing some of the extra graphics that go with it. There should have been a logo on the rocker just behind the front tire as well.

Source for front end suspension/steering parts

I've had moderate luck with finding stuff on RockAuto, but my car is a gen 3 and I know parts are starting to dry up for it even, so wouldn't surprise me if the selection is even more thin for the earlier gens. I've heard decent things about Meevotech parts, so that might be an option if they...

    Stock rear diffuser colors?

Have you got pictures? I'm mostly just curious what all you mean, though I have an idea in my head. Kind of almost sounds like a VOI edition car or something.

    Rear Tire option?

Pretty much every tire made in Viper sizes is considered "summer performance", though some put up with less than ideal weather better than others. Granted, some are certainly more aimed at performance than other as well (like the ACR tire, Nitto 555s I think, the old PS Cups, etc.).

    Volt gauge reading

The regulator in the PCM isn't necessarily that bad of an idea. You get a lot better overall control of the system that way as it can take a lot more info into account. For instance, we have battery temp sensors in our cars that will limit the charge rate of the battery if it starts getting...

Right passenger door gen 3 dodge viper

I noticed some pretty good cracking in the plastic behind the metal cover on my door the last time I had the panel off doing some work. I think the plastic is built into the door panel itself, so guessing it's not available separately, but I could be wrong.

    Volt gauge reading

Anything over 13 is ultimately still "good" in the sense that it's providing more voltage than the battery is using. As others have said though, I would check at the alternator and battery terminals themselves to confirm the real numbers (with a good meter I might add, I learned that lesson a...

Gen 3 Irregular Wear on Valve Stem and Rocker

Have you done any work on the heads? It almost looks like there are helicoils in the mounting holes on the head. Did the factory do that? I'm kind of wondering if one of them isn't all the way flush with the surface so when you tighten it down it's not going flat.

    New Gen III Owner

You can also just replace the crossover pipe with the gen 4 tips as I understand it. I have read that both gens used the same part number for the muffler, though I've never actually confirmed that myself. Would address heat issues and change the sound a little bit if you didn't want to go with...

94 Viper Paint Changed from Viper Red to Orange over the summer and tiny paint blisters everywhere

My mom's 94 has the similar tiny blisters. I think it's just the fiberglass off-gassing over many many years, so as others have said, it's typical for the car. Annoying, but I don't think there's much you can do about it other than repaint if it bothers you a lot.

    Viper Gen 3 Motor mounts

I have the Woodhouse poly mounts in my car and have been pretty happy with them. You will notice a little more buzz and vibration initially, but I think once they break in a bit you don't really notice it too much. The Viper isn't a luxury car to start with, so you already get a little more...

    New Gen III Owner

Seeing as there is an O2 sensor right next to one of those holes, I'm thinking it would probably make sense to repair. I would think that could easily cause some tuning issues that you may be chasing later if you don't.

Bought an SCT x3. Little to no support from SCT. Any tuners available can help out?

Viper Specialty (Dan Lesser) would be a good place to start. I bought a cam from him and he worked to get a tune made up for my car after a day at the dyno and a lot of email logs back and forth. He might have "canned" tunes for typical mods handy.

    IR autocross

Have any links? That's pretty cool and could help with diagnosing a lot of things. I remember Cat (as in Caterpillar) of all companies once made a phone that had a FLiR camera built into it.

    Sway bar bushings

You might try RockAuto. I think I got some for my 04 there on closeout a while back. They tend to run on the moderately expensive side ($50+ a set), but I think I snagged them for more like $20-30. Can't remember which ones I ended up with, but generally speaking they seem to work fine. I...

2004 Dodge Viper Gen 3 - lost oil

I would look toward the cooler lines as well. I replaced mine some time ago with lines I made at home and the fittings failed at the swivels causing a similar leak. I got to work one day when it was wet outside and when I went to back out I saw the rainbow puddle under my car. Certainly more...

Nice to see some more tires finally coming around on the market in our sizes. I have run the Michelin Pilot SuperSports pretty much exclusively on my 04 and have been really happy with them, but I know they can be hit and miss to find. My dad had an 03 with the Invos on it that I drove a...

    Hard start when hot

Is this the same for later gens? My gen 3 has some pretty inconsistent starting characteristics, but I haven't had a chance to get a gauge to hook to the fuel rail yet. Not always a hot start issue either, every once in a while it does it on the first start of the morning, but not nearly as...

    Transmission Fluid for G1 & G2

For what it's worth, I emailed Tremec and asked them the same question regarding what to use since SynTorq is out of production. They said ATF is fine. I think they recommended Mobil 1 ATF, but guessing any good quality one would work. T56s are in everything and I think the vast majority use...
