Now this cracks me up.
Look closely at your list of four "FACTS". Only #1 is a fact, #2 is a gross exaggeration thus not a fact. #3 is clearly not a fact. #4 is also not a fact and nothing you would have information on.
Lastly, you claim to be a sports car expert, but then have public...
Nope, not a specific person, but groups of them. I know you did end up driving and had great insight after you had and that was my point, that experience had value.
I think you missed the point on your last comment. No, most commenting have not driven or have experience to comment. Don't take specific comments out of the overall context.
Convert and Auto makes sense (and I agree) CCB, not so much unless you have driven. more hp, not so much. take...
And yet, that is what surprises me by folks comments.
Those that are the most critical at pointing out flaws (yet have very little experience with the product), like to hide under the statement "I am trying to help" and then get very upset when the manufacturer does not do what they say. How...
Good post Bruce. I will say it is a very interesting observation from those that own the car are extremely positive about it. Those that don't and really don't have any experience with it have a differing view. It is quite surprising as you would think those without experience would be...
Now, this makes sense to me. if looking for a fast American made sedan, why in the heck would you get a pos challenger over a Cadillac V. they weigh the same, the caddy is better looking, better overall car and handles better and is mildly boosted from the factory with a huge aftermarket...
avg buyer? come one now. Like someone accidentally bought a Viper. Give people more credit in this price range of what they are looking for. What the car look like, how it drives, sound, quality, etc all add up in this price range. The challenger did nothing more than give Dodge a...
Why are the two even related? Do we think some potential Viper owners will get confused and purchase a Challenger instead or visa versa? Did they forget the min $40k price difference and back seats, etc.
Are there really people that head down to the dealer to get a viper because of its 1/4...
Well, I can only give this as my experience. My gen3 with MCS suspension when set to soft settings rides a little smoother than my GTS in street setting, but on the stiffest settings runs a little stiffer than the GTS in race mode. btw, I would recommend MCS over Motons now.
Not sure completely following you question as far as adjustability. Moton (or newer MCS) can be applied to a gen5. all their adjustments are through remote canisters, top of shock and then of course ride height. If you are asking if it can connect to the suspension button on the dash, answer...
really not my intent to defend it at all. More to put in perspective some of the crazy requests I see as folks seem to state desires that do not relate to the history of the car at all. Kind of like asking for it to have higher towing capacities and that is what is holding them back... I...
Come on, prior models dominated before? reality check needed. ok, maybe in a world of only rear wheel drive cars. ultimately, some have done well with them in the past, but face it, not designed for it and not a great launching car. funny stuff...
do you think in a world without AWD, DCT...
Well, you are consistent, I give you that. The car you describe is a great quality car, but does not do it all as you describe.
Unfortunately, losing to a Camaro on the track was a serious blow to what you are saying in one category.
Or, like many, can't afford one. Lets me a little bit honest here, a radical design would not have changed things. more HP would not have changed things. The car is actually fantastic, but the sales/marketing/dealer experience is/was terrible and difficult to overcome. That factored with no...
What path are you referring to? Where do you think the path changed other than a nicer interior? You bought the car. You are happy with it. Yet, are you complaining about something?
I would disagree and I am no purist by any definition. The current design in my opinion and anyone I have spoken with is spectacular. I am amazed on EVERY time I drive the car, I have people taking pics with cell-phones while driving and it is all ages (16-60yr olds). It is drivers...
I think you are confusing a "race" car with a "track" car and drawing too hard lines around it. Your definition describes a race car or a dedicated track car. The minute you put an SC on it, you essentially just created yourself a dedicated street car. Your lotus example is one, but small...
and this is exactly why the challenger should never be discussed with the Viper. different class of car with a different purpose and this shows the market they have to compete with.
Drive HARD on the street or a track? Hard driving on the street is equivalent to a cool-down lap on the track. We just need to make sure what points people are debating from.
Heat soak does happen all day long at the track with supercharged cars on the track. You name the car (ZR1...
I think you are missing my key point. I have driven them only on the track and all were modded. Some was just track tires and brake pads, others was motor. I get it, they are fast and never debated that. The point was they are not so much a drivers car, but an engineering marvel instead. I...
Unfortunately, you made the incorrect assumption. Drove all the examples on the track extremely hard and thus why I asked. The car is an technology wizard and allows for hiding so many mistakes, but pushed extremely hard I never sensed the excitement part you mention. Fast, yes for sure...
