    Hellcat versus Viper transmission

I have to laugh when the term "slush box" is used. shows someones age and lock of knowledge of todays autos. We are not referring to your 1960's auto. more power an supercharger would have just got the same buyers of today. you want more, you offer and auto and conv.

    Hellcat versus Viper transmission

There are some good and silly things said in here in response. 4 cyl, electric? seriously, you equate those items to an auto? also, way over stating the sales. their goal was around 2000 a year. an auto would get them there. never a goal to get to 30k units a year. Just asking you not go...

    Hellcat versus Viper transmission

Again, why do you care if it is offered as an option? Seriously, I just don't get why you care what option is avail for someone else to buy. Nobody is saying ONLY have an auto. Did you have the same harsh views when ABS was offered or traction control or AC or power windows or leather or...

    Hellcat versus Viper transmission

Why do you guys say that. put in an 8sp auto (DCT or not), makes no difference and then watch the sales double. Also, why do you guys care? So, the Viper comes with the auto as an option, you don't need to buy it, so always confused why the strong opinions against it.

    Viper GTS vs 991 Turbo-S

I think you should take a smaller step and invite someone with a Camaro first... Let it beat a pony car on the track before stepping up to a big dog.

    Gen V & Challenger Hellcat

Let me summarize your post: 1) I want to tell everyone how fast the 911 Turbo S is in a straight line 2) I wan to tell everyone the GenV should have more HP 3) I want to repeat these same two items over and over, regardless of the topic of the thread

    Gen V & Challenger Hellcat

Why is this not viewed as only positive news. Dodge gets a higher hp pony car to compete with mustang and Camaro. Good thing and about time. It is really nothing more or less than that. Not sure how or even why the Viper comes up in the conversation.

Should I wait for the 2015 refresh

Fair points. I know on my GTS, the street setting is firm, but the race setting is pretty rock hard. What is interesting is on my gen3, the MCS suspension can go from being much smoother than the GTS with a couple of clicks to much harsher with a few clicks. In many ways, wish they came from...

Should I wait for the 2015 refresh

Only more complicated if you choose to make it so. Note my three options listed. If he was already wanting to modify the suspension (MCS) or brakes, you are already down a path where the TA does not make much sense unless you love the color or the solid sway bars. Reason being you chose to...

Should I wait for the 2015 refresh

Can we be more factual with responses. The GTS is not the grand touring model. Please drive these cars and quickly find out that leather seats don't make a car a grand touring car. Actually, do some research and you quickly find the TA the best track time, but the GTS is extremely close (with...

    Survey - '02 RT/10 or '13 SRT?

Please share more insight to why the deals are going to get even better shortly? Also, I assume your statement on SRT is about marketing, etc, but not the actual car, correct?

    Survey - '02 RT/10 or '13 SRT?

Gotcha, but just remember all the power is above 4000rpm. Not sure it will seem so refined and tame at that point. But my point was more about it is a passion purchase, not logical. If logical, you would be looking for a car with room, got good mileage, was comfortable, etc. So, if it drives...

    Survey - '02 RT/10 or '13 SRT?

Simple solution, just go test drive one. Our opinions are, well, just opinions. For me, in your shoes, no brainer move to get the new car, but not sure I would have said it until I saw one in person and drove it. I will say, after having a month now, the car is even better than my test drive...

Should I wait for the 2015 refresh

If you want black, then easy to get a great deal on a 13 or 14 now. Not sure why you would order one when so many avail with any options combos you want. Orange is TA only, so would have to look now. Silver, less out there. If decide on black, buy now.

Anybody Have The Scoop On.The 2015/2016 Viper??????

What surprises me is you still say you can't find a dealer to let you drive one, yet state you had a checkbook in hand. Never been to a dealer where that did not get me a test drive. It really is not that difficult to get a drive if you show you are serious, so something is not lining up.

What kinid of brakes does the Launch Edition have?

I think folks are mixing parts. the following applies: 2013-14 trackpack is the StopTech rotors (exactly what the Gen4 ACR's had) and the same brembo rotors all the way back to the 2003 Gen3 2013 SRT and GTS models had the option for trackpack (brakes and wheels/tires) 2014 SRT no longer...

What kinid of brakes does the Launch Edition have?

All Vipers have same Brembo calipers. LE are painted red like all GTS's rotors are two piece = same as track pack brakes and what were the Gen4 ACR brakes. LE is a bit unique in that does not get the trackpack tires or wheels. Sort of like how all 2014 GTS's come by default.

    Tire Pressure & Handling

completely agree. In fact, it tends to be the only lap you look down at the speedo and it is stunning some of the speeds you are doing during this lap.

    Tire Pressure & Handling

You must re-read your own posts carefully. You brought up the physics point as well as the mid-engine car, etc. You also stated the car had all of its mass in the front. Once you come to grips with that not being the case, some if your assumptions will change. Weight distribution is a...

    Tire Pressure & Handling

My last attempt to help you out here and trying my hardest to be respectful so you hopefully you won't get yourself killed with your setup. I will refer to your exact quote from the beginning where you give YOUR "working theory" so we have no misunderstanding. " Anyway, my working theory is...

    Tire Pressure & Handling

Lastly, I had to re-read you shopping car example because just blown away by it. such much so, have a difficult time where even to begin. Couple things to think about? 1) what is driving that cart? rear wheels? NOT 2) tire sizes and pressures? NOT 3) suspension spring rate? NOT Dude...

    Tire Pressure & Handling

I must say, you might top the list of biggest asses to be on this forum. You raise a stupid question that you think you already apparently know the answer too. You make some crazy assumptions, insult folks along the way. I must say, just a BS poster to begin with. If you want to see...

    Tire Pressure & Handling

Very few sedans have 50/50 weight balances. 2nd, if you want to express a concern about the weight and position of the driver, then do you want to also allocated tire pressure differently right to left to compensate. are you really thinking this has a dramatic effect on a 3300lb car with...

    Tire Pressure & Handling

This is confusing to me. if weight on axles is same per corner, how do you conclude the majority of the mass is in the front? The engine and driver sit between the wheels. Yes, more pressure in front or less in rear will create less oversteer (ie, it will push). Yes, get the wider tires...

    Headroom

just removed mine and makes a big difference. I will also add the seats are definitely stiff when new, but as many have posted before, once broken in, they get more comfortable. but to compare the gen2 seats to now is difficult as they were not performance seats by today's standard...
