Anyone have any experience with R&J Distributing?
I ordered a door panel that was "from a 3,300 mile Viper." What I got was cracked and looked like it had spent a year under water. That really puts into perspective how much the GenV looks like the Gen II, I guess that's why I like it so much. From the first time I drove a Gen IV, I wished I could have my GTS body on a Gen IV chasis...and that's pretty much what they did; it's the best of both worlds.- 96GTS

fuel surround rubber on GTS
I'm doing mine right now. Be sure to prep the surface by washing all the dirt and gobble-dee-goop off with warm soapy water and rinse well. I'm going to use an old tooth brush to get in the hard to reach areas and give it plenty of time to dry. My gasket has shrunk a bit, so I'm going to set it...- 96GTS

New Viper is huge letdown
Regardless of your opinion on looks, they listened to the owners and gave you what you wanted: LESS WEIGHT/MORE POWER. I love the way the car looks, and I think Ralph and the crew did a phenomenal job. I was blown away with the Viper...and then my jaw dropped when they rolled out the GTS/R...- 96GTS

97 B/W GTS or 2002 FE or 2010 Coupe/ACR
I love the looks of the B/W, but after driving one of the new ones at a SRT Track Experience I really liked the extra power, and it stopped and handled SO much better. I always wished I could have my GTS body on a 2010 chasis, and hopefully that's what the Gen V is; it'd be the best of both worlds!- 96GTS

New Classified: Stoptech 4 wheel brake kit with e-brake
I installed these on my GTS, and just be forewarned that there is some cutting involved for the mounting bracket. looking at a 96 and 97 b/w gts...
The outter door stancheon on the 1996 was too tall, and they are prone to cracking. Not that big of a deal, but one less thing to worry about on a '97.- 96GTS

Please don't get me wrong, I LOVE serving and have done so for over 21 years. I'm extremely grateful just to have a Viper, but it would be nice to have a little more left at the end of the month to devote to my car.- 96GTS

New Viper during the Super Bowl--lost opportunity
As far as most of the world, they think the Viper line ended 2 years ago. I would have loved to see a Gen V commercial because you reach so many more people than you will at an auto show in New York (I'm in Texas). If I wasn't a member of this board I would have to wait for one of the magazines...- 96GTS

Bottom facia scratched to hell, worth re-painting?
If you own a garage queen and never drive the car, paint it. I drive mine quite often and I understand that is a part of life and just accept it. It makes driving so much more enjoyayable when you don't worry so much.- 96GTS

power steering cap off
An easier fix is to drill a small hole in the cap and safety wire it to something. I did it to mine and haven't had a problem since. When the cap comes off, power steering fluid comes out and gets on the exhaust which causes you to watch in horror as your baby burns to the ground.- 96GTS

Remember the first time you drove a Viper?
The first one I drove was 10 years ago, and it belonged to a good friend. It was a red/silver 01 GTS that had less than 100 miles on the odometer.
