Robert,
First of all for those of you wondering why not more horsepower – in the timeframe we had there just was not that kind power left untapped in the Gen IV engine! With the emissions and OBD requirements, it’s not as simple for us manufacturers as it is for aftermarket tuners. Things like...
For 2013 dealers will have to have Viper certified techs to be able to sell the cars. Those technicians will have to pass a number of prerequisites and then travel to a handful of locations that will teach the Viper courses. It will be a pretty extensive requirement. Vipers will also be...
One question per post, please.
1) Yes, there will be a mopar pcm. The old one won't work.
2) Yes.
3) Yes. Offset is reduced approximately 8mm

The strategy for the new car was to provide the customer with a 46mm piston, manual selectable, 2 mode shock. We didn't want an active system for this program.
We are launching with NAFTA cars, and other markets (more than in the past) will follow not to far down the road, but we are not ready to give a specific time yet.
Pricing has not yet been finalized on the Vipers so we can’t answer that question. Since it hasn’t been finalized, I have no idea where $137K came from. It looks like we will be able to give VCA members priority on builds, so if you put your up-to-date VCA member number on your order, then we...
- The Gen V will launch with two unique stripe patterns. One for the SRT Viper and one for the GTS Viper model. Both stripe patterns will be faithful to the Viper heritage (don't want to totally spoil the surprise yet!)
- The Gen V ride height (ground clearance) is similar to previous Vipers...
This doesn't directly address your independant guys, but when Sergio first showed the Viper to dealers in 2010, he said it would be available at “select” dealers, so that is our plan. Dealers will have to have Viper certified techs to be able to sell the cars. Those technicians will have to...
No Mercedes!! As for the demographics: There will be two price classes, the SRT Viper is targeted at the Viper loyalist who wants a great back-to-basics machine with the relevant performance-oriented technology, and the SRT Viper GTS which is targeted both at the loyalist who wants more...
From our Radio folks - If the replacing the amp didn’t fix the problem, most likely the radio is the culprit. Have the dealer try that out. Speaker and/or wiring failure is highly unlikely in this case. Let us know!
Gents,
SRT Engineering has listened very carefully to your feedback on seats. Many of us are also taller drivers, and we track our personal cars too, so we understand your feedback completely. And, we think you'll be very pleased with our plans for the Gen 5 seats.
Thanks very much for your...
Viper transmissions are not remanufactured. The "RL" part number in this case simply means that the core (take out trans) must be returned where it is inspected and scrapped. All replacement Viper transmissions ordered through a Chrysler dealer are new transmissions.
P0300 is Random/Multiple misfire detected and you can thank your friends at CARB for such wonderful regulations!. It is a two trip fault; it must happen twice during your run period but will set the fault as soon as the second event is detected. It's not clear what year car you have so the...
