If you have the arrow roller rockers (harland sharps) my first modification would be to get rid of them and go to stock rockers. These arrow rockers have failed me twice.
710 from roeracin or talk to greggood. 710 is good for 45-55 rwhp cam/springs/rods/gen4 head gaskets. Drivability is very close to stock.
On a stock 440 rwhp car with no other mods the cam springs rods and gaskets plus sct tune will put you at 490-510 rwhp.
Sounds pretty awesome as well
710 cam/bee hive springs/forged pushrods/gen4 head gaskets=$1500
kn air intake=$350
beleteing all 4 cats for staraight pipes=$200
sct tune=$500
a shop to delete the cats and install the cam/springs/rods/gaskets/air intae and delete the cats=$2000
$4500 total and your 510 HP...
Heres the first dyno we did after installing the 710 cam. I was sad as hell. Only hit 500 rwhp sae (512 std) . Just 25 rwhp over my stock cam (487 std) and 13 rwhp over the comp coupe cam (499 std) . Luckily a rich tune and clogged cats were the reason for the "low" 500 rwhp sae #...
Drives like a stocker. My cam installer whos done 1000s of cams in american cars (fourth cam job hes done for me) stated that he was expecting it to be wilder and that if drivability is this good then they could easily change the profile a lil to make another 15 rwhp and be completely...
Honestly Id say 112 crank hp was gained from bolt ons and cam. Average gen3 dynoes 440-445 sae. Im at 543 sae. Thats an actual 100 rwhp gain.
I dont even have headers/throttle body/manifold yet.
The 710 cam is amazeing. This is gen4 power with an extra 25 rwt.
Lundquist....
Im starting to think this camshaft may be worth even more than 60 rwhp.
When I first asked Sean Roe how much power this camshaft was good for he told me 70-100 rwhp depending on what modifications I had. To be 100 percent honest I basically scoffed at the idea and pretty much...
just read this whole thread. Gotta admit that after looking at the pics posted of the gen3 pakage. WEll anyone who wants to sell their 03-06 and get a gen4 has a new option. adding this kit seems to for the most part give you a gen4 engine. Looks pretty much the same only unlike the gen4 it...
ran into a problem with my passenger side catalytic converter. When the 710 cam was first installed I drove it 15 miles not knowing one of my spark plug wires had come loose and the engine was mis fireing and dumping fuel into the exhaust.
The dyno operater found lots of cat metal flakes on...
Pappa P rich. As your name suggest we are polar opposits. I would be Pappa P poor. Thats why I dont have headers yet. LOL. Havent decided if I will add heads next year or headers plus throttle body.
LOOK.. NOT ONE PERSON KNEW IF THEIR NUMBER WAS SAE/STD ECT. I need to update this thing!
Modified as of 12 Apr 2011 and Id love to add YOU to the list
NAME-Steve B YEAR-2003 RWHP/RWT-534/557 TYPE DYNO-Dyno Dynamics MODIFICATIONS-KN filters...American raceing headers...Corsa exhaust...A&C SCT...
Then cat2 muffler cross pipe are deleted. Cat1 still in place
And for real drivability is awesome
351carlo, Way I see it is if I said she made 475 rwhp stock cam (never mentioning sae) and then said she made 527 rwhp with the 710 cam (never mentioning STD) indicating that I gained 52 rwhp...
Agreed. However one thing I have realized about the internet is that 90 percent of the numbers people post are standard/uncorrected. SAE is posted as often as average quartermile times are.
An individual can run 50, 12.1s @120 mph and have another 24 passes at 12.3-12.8 at 118-120 mph
BUT HE...
Just got off the phone with Sean Roe. Told him about my Air Fuel Ratio being low 11s and he said he should be able to get me another 10-20 rwhp by getting it to 12.8. Hes also gonna look into the timing as I told him I can run 93 pump instead of 92. He will send me the new tune later today.
I...
