Ditto here, with stoptech calipers. With 80% of braking done up front, I like running a bigger pad up front.
When I had GenIII calipers I ran brakeman 3's and was very happy with them, also carbotech's, XP 10 front, 8 rear as well.
Just another thought....have her box up things she really wants now, ship back..
Then go get the rest of the stuff in 4 mos.
I live here in IN, change of season is beautiful here and so would the drive back be!

I have tracked and street driven mine when it's below 50 degrees, just be sure to adjust your throttle input in correlation to the wheel position.:)
I live in N Indiana, so I hear ya' on something that would do well in the snow also!
Lots of great choices mentioned, I personally would look at an Evo...miata...or a BMW.
I roadrace a lot and see teens in those all the time.
