    Posting sound clips

I apologize for the cliff-note version I posted. If you have specific questions on the install I will try to answer as best I can. However, it was very straighforward. I think I used a total of 4 tools, including a hammer to "help" get the old exhaust off. The hardest part was getting to the...

Mopar Performance (Borla) cat back install with sound

ViperJeff - I just saw your note on my other post about the site I linked to for the sound clips using html and it not being supported here. I posted it before reading that. If it violates site rules or anything you can remove it. My apologies...

Mopar Performance (Borla) cat back install with sound

Thanks! If anybody is interested: http://m.ebay.com/itm/Mopar-Performance-P4510608-Cat-Back-Exhaust-System-Dodge-Viper-SRT10-8-3L-2003-0-/111778123857?nav=SEARCH . Only one more available! It surprised me to find out out that Borla makes these kits for MP. Why would you pay the extra if its...

Mopar Performance (Borla) cat back install with sound

So I bought the cat back from MP and installed it today. The kit was straightforward and simple. With a trip to town to get more T40 bits (dang Torx head bolts!) it took me about 4 hours total. The hardest part was removing all the stubborn to break Torx bolts and reaching the forward 10mm nut...

Okay. I found an easy site to use. Is Vocaroo.com supported on this forum?

    Ignition switch short

Ok. I will go back to her Monday. I told her that but she said the switch she shows mounts inside the steering column and didnt appear to be part of the key switch. Like a separate box or something. I will go look at her diagram and point it out. Thanks.

    Posting sound clips

What is the best way to post sound clips on here? I will be using my Android phone to record. Not the best I know, but it's all I have right now. I am adding a Borla cat-back this weekend and I want to do a build thread with before and after clips. I will also try to post the step-by-step...

    Ignition switch short

I called the dealership to see if they could get one. There were three options. A lock kit, a steering column switch, and a dashboard switch (the Start button). She said the switch was not associated with the ignition. It was a column mounted electrical switch and not part of what the key...

Can u get them keyed to the current key code or do I have to carry different keys now?

    Ignition switch short

Lately I have been noticing when I go to start the car my ignition switch key has to be jiggled before the start button works. When you turn the key to the 2nd position (ON) you can see the gauges clicking on and off as you twist the key and you have to get all of them to stay on before it will...

Jacking Your Viper Up On A 4-Post Lift

I'm looking at installing a lift in my shop also. Not sure if I want 2 post or 4 post. I have plenty of ceiling clearance and floor space. I think the 4 post with ramps would be more stable and easier on the car, but doesn't allow tire removal without the jacking bridge or other means of...

Gen 3 III CLUTCH SUGGESTIONS PLEASE! My GIFT for helping - coolest V commercial ever!

Re: Gen 3 III CLUTCH SUGGESTIONS PLEASE! My GIFT for helping - coolest V commercial e Haven't heard of any of those, but I'm fairly new to the Viper world. I did major upgrades to an '03 Mustang Mach 1 that put out a little over 700hp at the crank and ran the same SPEC brand Stage 2 setup in...

    Hennessey 650 or 700R upgrades

I 2nd that on the exhaust! The GG setup seems to be a popular vote. I will look into them more as well. Gears, exhaust, and maybe even upgraded body panels/hoods/splitters/wheels to come....who knows where it will end. And our good friend at Woodhouse has reminded me of their...

    Hennessey 650 or 700R upgrades

Scratch the stupid question...I guess Google IS my friend! Lol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hennessey_Venom_GT How can a company with so much to gain risk losing it all by having unhappy customers? They don't have time for us "low grade" Viper owners anymore?

    Hennessey 650 or 700R upgrades

I initially called Hennessey before posting here and got the typical "oh yeah, our stuff is better than others" response. He did say the parts were readily designed and available for Gen4 and 5 cars, but would fit the Gen 3 if I wanted to accept a "no warranty" purchase. (yeah...he said that)...

    Hennessey 650 or 700R upgrades

Okay then....that was interesting. :eater: I am assuming that I am also a newbie by definition, as I have only owned my car for about 8 months and have never dealt with anything in the Viper world before now. Google search is what led me to the Hennessey website and the creation of this post...

    Hennessey 650 or 700R upgrades

Yes, I would TRY to do the work myself. But I have good ties with the Viper tech at the local dealership. He replaced my trans and also did some work to my '08 Dodge Ram 3500. If I run into hurdles I have backup. I searched Google and this site and read all I could. I was hoping for some...

    Hennessey 650 or 700R upgrades

Does anyone have any experience/ advice/complaints on either of these kits? Is it worth the money or is there other upgrades that are better for less?

Whats the funniest thing anyone has ever asked or said about your viper?

I was at a car show doing some final touches on detailing. A new z06 backs into a spot across from me. The guy gets out and keeps looking over. I knew it was coming, but didnt expect what came next. "What year is it?" "'03" "Nice car! I hope mine looks that good in 12 years." "Gotta take...

Heads and cam swap gen3 to gen4

Was it a direct bolt-in installation? Any modification or issues? I am looking to do this to mine in the near future. Interesting about the gears. I am going to 3.55, but if I stand to end up anywhere close to your numbers are you saying I should stay with 307??? Nice job though! Congrats!!

Drivetrain clunk and when to do something

There has always been slack in the gears. With the car on jacks you can turn the drive shaft back and forth and hear the backlash. I always thought it was excessive, but I also hear these cars are famous for clunky drivelines. Oh well... that gives me an excuse to do the work as soon as I get...
