Nice, I have spoken to a few people here and I think I will go with the amsoil manual tranmission fluid 75w90. They seem to like it and I live close to the distribution centre so i can pick it up for $11/bottle. Thanks for the info guys
Now about changing it...is there a drain bolt for a...
Sorry what does TSB stand for? Also, is this the dextron ATF that you speak of? http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/3/AutoFluidsChemicals/TransmissionFluidTreatments/PRD~0289418P/Mobil+Dexron-VI+ATF+Fluid.jsp?locale=en Just so I am sure I am buying the right thing. Or is the dextron 6...
ya i just replaced the rear end with amsoil gear lube. Their transmission fluid though....it's a one size fits all transmission fluid...and it just concerns me how there are so many different types of transmission fluid bur amsoil can do all of them in one?
Hey guys, I was wondering what is the transmission fluid to put in a stock 98 gts. I usually go amsoil fluids, but their generic 1 transmission fluid fits all kind of worries me. Should I just get factory fluid or try something different.
Done...finally. I got a total of 28 ounces in it. Not completely empty, but good either way. The old stuff I took out was black..compared to the sexy new clean stuff. Good thing that doesnt have to be done often.
thanks again for the help.
it's all good. I got it adjusted enough that the door doesnt hit the weatherstripping anymore. the door now looks a bit too far forward (to my eye), but at least it's not damaging the weatherstripping. thanks for the thread
ya your right. I usually do buy online, but I thought hey these are just sheet metal screws...nothing special. I guess I was wrong because they must be platinum plated for $10 each
Hey last summer i put some aftermarket exhaust on so i had the side sills off. Somehow I lost 9 of the sheet metal screws that hold the side panel on. I was at Fastenal to pick up some unrelated bolts and they told me they could get them but it would likely be faster to go straight to...
ya i did buy it. i didnt use the stick that was on the pump...i went and bought 2 feet of tubing and put it on. Kind of odd it seems about a cup....super brown/black. I will give it another shot and see what happens. Either way I guess replacing some is better than nothing.
After all this...the ONLY thing that worked was a pump from a body wash bottle with a 2 foot long hose attached to it. Go figure....
im pretty sure i didnt get a full 41ounces out, but I guess it's better than nothing.
now to get it back in....i will just pump it back in. do i teflon tape...
Believe me...ive tried to get it done the past 2 days. I have used the following with no sucess:
1) drill pump http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/6/Tools/PowerToolAccessories/DrillBitsSetsAccessories/PRD~0543802P/Mastercraft+Drill+Pump+Kit.jsp?locale=en
2) suction grease gun...
unfortunately i am not able to drive it to warm it up. its -25C here and snowy. Maybe I should wait until it is driving season. Does temp play a huge role in it? my problem now is that i have some fluid out, but not alot...but nothing I would feel comfortable driving with it like.
ive used everything I have and called around...I cannot find a pump to get this out. Is there something wrong with taking the cover off? or is it a way bigger pain in the ass
I love those and really want to do them. Unfortunately I had a headache fighting with the needles with my mustang so I think I am too scared. Especialy with replacement parts for the Viper
thanks alot for the help. I think i will try to heat it back into place, and if that doesnt work I will try a brace thing. I just have to say I don't like those trim plates....no offence to those who have one.
