There is a noticable difference in handling. So much so, that I am getting SSRs and PS2's in addition to my track SSR's and PSC's so I can take advantage of the reduction in unsprung weight on a daily basis.
SSR wheels and Pilot Sport Cups will save you 18-19 pounds per corner (yes, 75 pounds of unsprung weight) over the stock wheels and runflats.
I measured the difference on a scales at one point, but can't find where I recorded it.
I don't know. I've got 13 inch SSR wheels now, and have mounted the Kumho 335/30/18s and the Sport Cup 345/30/18s on them with no issues.
If the 13 inch wheels won't fit the PS2's then I suppose I will need to go down to 12.5 inches.
I'm buying wheels and tires from the same source, and...
Get the corsa track with headers and high flow cats. It will be loud enough that you will go deaf after 5000 miles of driving.
Trust me on this. I'm speaking from personal experience here.
Weight is the primary reason. The 18 inch SSRs weigh signficantly less than any 20 inch wheel I've seen. That's unsprung weight. Also, I'd just as soon not have the additional height of a 20 inch wheel. I have stock 3.07 gears on my car, and don't need bigger wheels to make the effective...
My interest in the PS2's is that they are likely the highest performing non-competition tire available. Clearly, they are not going to be as good at the track as the Ecstas or the Sport Cups, but for every day driving (and events such as the One Lap of America, which doesn't allow Ecstas or...
Michelin is finally manufacturing the PS2 in a 335/30/ZR18 size.
I've been wanting PS2's for quite a while now, but didn't want to go up to 20 inch wheels.
These new 18 inch tires should fit nicely on the SSR Comp wheels (which are the lightest wheels I've seen for Vipers) This seems like a...

Henny built a 577 ci stroker SRT Coupe that has a claimed 800 crank horsepower. I think it was entered in this year's One Lap of America. It ended up with some sort of mechanical trouble and wasn't able to finish.
I'm sure there are some high-revving n/a engines out there that have well...
These are crank numbers. The engine isn't in the car.
I'm hoping for mid 600s at the wheels on a dynojet after some VEC2 tuning. We'll see.
I used the VEC2 over the AEM for several reasons:
AEM won't pass emissions here in Colorado. AEM is a lot more expensive. For a naturally aspirated...
As many folks know, I've been getting my engine rebuilt following a nasty, rod and piston shattering event at the track last year.
After many delays trying to find a competent machine shop here in Colorado, I finally decided to ship the engine to Kevin Singleton at Exotic Engine Development He...

I've run into only one 430 on a road course (a very tight, technical course.) I had no problem reeling in the 430. The Viper's torque out of tight corners is a big advantage, and I wasn't giving up anything on the short straights either. At the time, my car was stock except for headers...
Many engine builders have this opinion.
If it were my car, I would follow your friend's advice and put regular oil in for the first 500 miles, change it at 500, put in more regular oil, and then put in synthetic at 1000.
