The crash is old news, but today it was announced that it is believed a Viper may have been involved. Hulk Hogan is a Viper owner as well.

These came out late last year and did include the Tomahawk. Just recently they reissued the package sans the motorcycle and now including a police car. There are also Vipers with a 'solid' 5-spoke wheels instead of the open 5-spoke that you mentioned!
The game hit digg.com, so loading a bit slow. Working fine for me in Firefox....IE is very slow loading it.

A hint for people looking for the classics (at least the red ones). Your best best is to check the toy aisle at the grocery store. They're probably a little more price-wise (usually $3.99), but at least they're there.
As for these new colors, not sure if they are hobby-only or not. I got my...
3rd color in the series (Blue with white stripes).

Also playing around with an online store - too many duplicates in the collection!

I would tend to agree, except the mods are mostly interior. No body mods mentioned. Exhaust upgrade is common among the Viper community. Seems like a good percentage swap out their wheels too.
Hoping to find someone in the area that is familiar with it that may be able to shed more light on...
Still looking for an 01/02, and the kindof like what they've done with the interior:

Would probably look great striped! Anyhow, anyone in the Dallas area know this car? Comments?
It's more speculation than anything after following this series at many different retailers. The case has one of each in the series (full set). So it would seem that all are made in the same quantities.
As for the stocking comment - that's typical retail. Fill the pegs until they are full...
It appears they are coming one per case (one of each), with most stores opening up only one case. Many of them still have old stock on the peg (series 1 and 2), so sometimes the new ones only go out til the pegs are full, with the rest of the case being put into the back for a later restock.
I...
Actually, if it's red with silver 5-spokes like this one:
http://www.diecastvipers.com/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,27/?g2_itemId=2032
You're looking in the $20 to $30 range.
The red with gold 5-spokes are much harder, but usually run in the $50-80 range now, although I've seen some of...
About 2 mins ago they just showed a live shot of a flipped Red w/White Stripes Viper (assuming a GTS - couldn't tell from the bottom :D) that also sheared off a fire hydrant creating what they called his "own personal geyser". Missed the location of the helicopter shot...
Apparently Russians don't like '666' on your license plate (or maybe they just hate Vipers).

These were in production long before their announcement. May be the last Vipers in this scale from Ertl for a long time... :(
I have opened up a set of all 17 - if you want to see them out of the package and breathing fresh air, here they are...
I see this car all the time here in the QC and can't believe it's a 93. Never looked at it up close, but from an admiring distance it looks fantastic. Didn't you put 5-spokes on it?
Just got back from the Hot Wheels National Convention, and thanks to a number of purchases, we just crossed the 600 mark for unique 1:55 scale and smaller vipers uploaded to http://www.DiecastVipers.com! Now at 620 and still more to photograph!
I remember this one on eBay late last summer. Don't recall the seller's name, but when I inquired about the positioning of the logo, his response was that it was the original one and had never been in an accident/repainted. He then added that the information was from a previous owner...
