I like it too, however, I have a story to tell.
I took my girls to see "Ramona & Beezus" last week, and there is a scene where they are washing a truck for the neighbor. The truck ends up backing into the garage, tipping over dozens of cans of paint making a 'rainbow' paint job on the truck...
You are 100% correct Jon. We were fortunate to go into the overflow building as well (but not the off-site brick ones) - I could sit all day and listen to his stories!
One of the great things about visiting Roanoke, is when John takes you into the storage areas to show off some of the great things under cover. From an original 92 with the window sticker still on it, to an old RoadRunner with an even greater story behind it.
The press has published the black...
For anyone who has taken it apart to do the glue fix - the service manual hints that the inner stanchion trim cover can be removed on its own. Were you able to? Or did you have to remove the entire door panel first?
I tested out some of Elmer's Nano-glue, and it seems that it will do the job well. Now just have to get the inside trim out, then the outside piece off to clamp it up nicely. The nano-glue expands, so clamping is 100% required, or you'll find yourself with a bowed-out trim and a window that...
Thanks Dave - couldn't find anything related in the service manual and wasn't using the right search term. Glad I found it before it became lost - $600ish to replace (yikes)! I see it must have been riveted on originally, so the previous owner must have glued it also at some time.
After sitting in the sun all day at Roanoke (Mopar show), when I went to roll up the window, the rubber trim was just sticky enough to bite on the window and pull away from the door. Looks like it is applied by a factory adhesive.
Any suggestions/recommendations before I slap on some epoxy...
A head's up - it's that time of year again, and once again you can find some cool Viper stuff in the school supply section at WalMart. They have 2-pocket folders and spiral notebooks with shots of the 2010 Viper on them!
The 2-pockets are only 97 cents, didn't catch the price of the spiral...
For all you guys and gals that missed this event, this is who/what you missed!
(me on the left and Pres/CEO of some car company on the right)!!!!!!!!!
And I have to add, this photo was right before he got in this ACR and beat both Alex and Mark for fastest time of the day!
An open invite to anyone coming that is west of Rockford (obviously including Iowa). A couple of us (2-4) will be making the trip from Iowa and will be driving together - let us know if you want to meet up with us!
The Prowler didn't come out until 1997, so doubtful their mirrors could have been used on early gen Vipers without a wayback machine. The concept Prowler wasn't even shown until 1993! May have been the other way around though (Prowler using Viper parts).
Tough crowd today. Since you only want a coupe, you can easily narrow down the years you're looking at. If you want the old (curvy) body style, then the 2002 is your choice. It was the last year of the Gen2. 2003-2005 was verts only, so you can eliminate those. 2006 brought the first coupe...
Thanks for posting this Rocket! They are expecting 300-500 cars, and this is probably the largest car show in the area each year. I know they have nearly 300 door prizes too, so everyone is pretty much assured something for their entry fee. Trophies to the top 100 also.
Mills Chevrolet will...
For sale: Maybach Exelero (550000 EUR), Geneva, Switzerland - JamesList
Found a blog link to it on the Alley
Dodge Viper-turned-Maybach Exelero on James | James Spotting
Correct! It killed me when they arrived - the manufacture date was only about 2 months from my receiving them, then I waited 5 months to finally get them on.......friggin' Iowa.....:D
Well, in their defense, if you 'weld' them to the car as the instruction site says will happen, you'll have to buy another set! Sounds like planned obsolescence to me! :rolaugh::rolaugh:
Thanks all - and to answer the question above, yep...stock brakes. Was worried about how they would look all exposed and all, but the shine of the rotors really comes through!
What I like about them is they are 'edgier' than the 'wagon wheels'. I suppose the design is supposed to complement...
