Frank,
As usual a great post on a subject that should have interest to a lot of Viper racers.
Two comments: It will not be necessary to re-program your Mo-Tec. This means all comp coupes, other SRT's, I don't know; perhaps Eric could respond for those. The reason all is OK is that your...
Mike, I just caught your post. If what you are thinking is if you can take the comp coupe shock and spring to the street car, well, your wish is........... Anyway Mopar Perf. is soon to introduce a kit for the street car which is a specially engineered set of Motons for your SRT-10. If you...
Stock brake rotors are cheap, easy to change, and compared to what you are thinking of using, not that much different. I would save my money and put it all down on a big brake kit later. If you want some improvement. Here's in order of what to do first and so on. If pre-2000, lose the brake...
We have installed Stop Tech's and Brakeman complete systems. Stoptech is a good system that uses a porsche size brake pad, easy to get. 14" rotors do not fit in 17" wheels, the main downside. Equipped with brake ducts and they are good for almost anything you can give em.
Re: CC\'s dominate Phoenix race weekend
Frank and Phil: Thanks for the race report and keep em comin, as you can see we lap this stuff up (tongue in cheek). You guys are at the pinnacle of what us Viper freaks are about: racing. Now don't deny us giving you a few "attaboys" next time you do...
RE: The gas pedal height issue. Yes there is a way Russ that you can change the height relationship of your pedals. The accelarator, brake, and clutch pedals are each on cam mechanisms that move fore and aft via rotating cables that are connected to a central gear box. You highly skilled...
If you wish to confirm it is a fuel pressure regulator; after the car has been setting for over an hour, turn the key on, then off three or more times. If the car then starts right away this will reinforce the diagnosis that you have a pressure regulator that is leaking back. When you turn the...
Ralph: I owe my existance to one. At least I think I do. You may recall the accident at Road America where a Corvette went off track; came back across collecting four cars (three of them were Viper competition coupes) in the August SCCA Speedtv World Challenge GT race. I impaled the Corvette...
Re: Weight reduction and downforce response
Hello Anders: Sorry to hear about your accident.
RE: weight. Using body panels and interior as your sources for weight loss you can go from the 3380 pound stock weight to under 3000. Add back 110 pounds for the roll cage. This will take some...
"Tom,
You mention ABS. Is it possible to retrofit ABS onto a 1997 GTS? "
I'll field that one Tom, and by the way listen to Tom you guys, he knows his stuff. On ABS, not retrofittable unless you want to float the price of half a new car at it. This takes knuckles, cpu's, tone wheels to just...
As most of you know we do our best to deal with each of our clients in as professional manner as possible. Do we make mistakes, absolutely!
I am sorry I have been out of town. In my last conversation with Paulo, by phone, involved a request for substantiation of the $400.00 he asked me for...
Mr. Gavin:
We did a back to back evaluation on Hoosiers vs the Toyo tire at our local track two months ago. The car was my #13 Comp Coupe. Conclusion on grip: Toyo .5 sec a lap quicker on a 2 mile circuit. Pual Mumford and I disagreed on the wear of each brand, I feel the Hoosier can run...

Re: Transform Euro Spec. 97\' GTS to US Spec. which Parts are required?
Euro vs. U.S. spec Vipers are different in the powertrain only by the air cleaner. The exhaust is more muted for Euro but the number and size of resonator/mufflers is the same. You have already gone past the changes...
Frank Barba among others have some seat questions. Here is my experience:
On the drivers seat you will notice the seat does not face forward, it is pointed about 15 degrees outboard. This works but I prefer to be facing parallel with the axis of the car or slightly pointed inboard. If you...
Hey Rocket, just caught your note. What is it you want to improve? You said the 2-3 shift is brutal, that makes me think it does not make the transition rapidly which could be that your transmission is getting some wear in the blocker rings or the nylon shift fork tips. The Woodhouse shifter...
The Gen II and Gen III Vipers share no correlation in brake parts other than the manufacturer and the fact that they both use brake fluid. Most cost effective way to do it is to trade. It is do able of coarse. Electronics, wheel knuckles and many other indirectly related parts would drive the...
Intellectuals and nerds, an impressive group authoring this thread. Take this guy Adkins seriously. He has his stuff in a pile (Boeing engineer and knows aero). Three years ago he was instrumental in guiding several of us through air intake questions. In fact I think he was partially...
Tony, those bushings in the rear are doing what you are asking, tightening the car, it will stiffen the suspension by approx 35#s per side at 1 inch of bar deflection.
Tom your idea of an adjustable from the driver seat rear bar is a good one.............but with reservation. I toyed heavily...
Tony, Tom: I just finished reading through your thread. Interesting, and I see both of you are knowledgeable on suspension.
Also I was pleased that Jack, who owns and has tested the bar came away with what we set out to provide. That is to give a Viper an inexpensive way to balance the...
How about that Mumford, isn't he amazing? A podium, first time out. From 22nd position. We are very fortunate to have him in the Dodge camp. If he chooses to stay with WC next year you can see a potential Dodge mfgrs championship don't you think. It will tarnish his Rebel image tho, thats...
