Doing all the work myself; plugs, fluids, filters, and grease was less than $300 for the past year. Most expensive thing was a wheel/tire balance at the Porsche dealer ($100) since nobody else in the area could get under the car or balance 335s.

I show up as dirty as possible to shows.
A ViperACR with brake dust on the wheels at a show > clean & shiny.
Only other car that grabs more attention is a friend's Gallardo.

If it's within your budget, you could coat the entire exhaust. Keep cabin temps down and have the exhaust gasses flow more quickly.
