Seen quite a few old threads on coolant drain/fill procedures but wondered what the latest opinions are. First- maybe a dumb question but I assume the hex head radiator drain plug unscrews counterclockwise like a typical plug would but want to make sure it isn't some weird reverse thread since...
Thanks- been talking with him today trying to figure out why the dash ENGINE light comes on- all the relays checked good. Temp lamp sensor might be next on the list.
Does anyone have a NAPA or ? part number for a 94 radiator fan relay? The Dodge dealer said it is discontinued (old part # 5252521) and NAPA couldn't cross reference the number or find anything in their books..........thanks
Thanks AZVTR. I finally put the car on a lift and looked up for a different view. The ONLY sensor on the cylinder heads, front or rear, is the one on the passenger side front that I described above. Wish someone else with a 94 Viper could look at their motor and see if it is the same. thanks
I see where a sensor could be installed (exactly where it should be according to the service manual and other threads) but it looks like the hole is sealed off with a stud- looks factory to me. I did find what looks like a sensor on the passenger side at the same location. It has a single...
I believe I was looking in the wrong place- (I'm not blind, just a little slow.........) I see a couple wires below the exhaust manifold that might go to the sensor (can't see it from above)- looks like you need to get under the car to reach where the sensor might be- sound right? thanks
Thanks for the suggestions- From what I read in those threads and the diagram in the service manual, I should be able to see a single wire connector but all I see is a small black hard plastic hose with a 90 degree end that fits over a silver vacuum type nipple- right where everyone says the...
Just bought my 94 Viper (15K miles) and when the temp gauge gets just above the 3rd mark at 190, the red "ENGINE" light comes on and won't go off until you turn the ignition off. This is different from and not the "CHECK ENGINE" light! The owner's manual says this light signals that the...
My next project for my recently purchased 94 Viper is to purge the air pockets out of the cooling system after JonB at ViperPartsRack gave me detailed instructions (great guy). Question is: has any one been able to reach through the round access hole in the front of the fender well (in front...
I don't know much about relays etc or exactly what kind I need so I was hoping someone would have already installed one and could give me a brand/part number/installation tips.
Well the new switch from Dodge doesn't work but the original one still does so I put it back in and all seems well for now. I called Summit but the headlight harness relay part# SUM-890030 that is mentioned in earlier threads (referred to above) is no longer available and Summit could not find a...
I decided to try and repair the somewhat melted end cap on the wiring harness plug as I could see that the center blade hole wasn't making good contact. I trimmed the melted plastic away from the hole and cleaned it up a bit and pushed the old switch back on- and everything now works!. It was...
Local Dodge dealer said the plug (same one that was used on Dodge pickups) is no longer available. It is available from a couple vendors on the internet for about $30- just have to spice it in if I can't release the wires from the old plug.. Might also try to find a nice plug (not melted....)...
Bought a new headlight switch and got the original out. The original switch looks fine but the red plastic cover on the end of the plug of the wiring harness that plugs into the headlight switch is a little melted and one of the contact points looks like it came apart. Can the wires be...
Got my old Clifford alarm system removed so now my next issue. I don't have any dash lights, parking lights or taillights. Headlights, fog lights, interior dome(rear view mirror) lights all work. I checked the fuse box and all fuses are good. (The problem lights didn't work before I removed...
I need to lower the driver's seat in my 94 Viper. I've seen 2" non adjustable seat lowering kits (which I need since I'm 6'3') that cost $200-$400. That seems very expensive for what you get. Wondered if anyone has built their own lowering brackets? thanks
Thanks for the suggestions. I also located a dealer/installer in Colo Spgs who was very familiar with the old alarms. He gave me some good tips too- said to carefully disconnect each wire leading from the control box- and the pink and the pink/white wires are the ones that tie into the car's...
I just bought my first Viper- a 94 RT 10 with 15k miles. While going through the car I discovered it had a Clifford Intelliguard 800-IQ alarm system installed- probably back in 94 or so according to Clifford. There is no remote for it and I would like to remove the system. I traced some wires...
