I had a similar problem with my Gts. You can do some searching around on the forum here because there are more threads on this subject. I just put a bettery tender on it and forget about it. I have one on my SRT 10 now too. It seems if they sit they have a tendency to drain batteries.
I have a friend that has both Lamborghini and Ferrari I can tell you Dodge Vipers don't have costs anything close to those cars. It's more than say a normal car but not crazy.
My wife loves my Viper because she is always cold and the car is like an oven so she is happy. Most of the time she is in the car she sleeps. Couple times on canyon drives I had to hold her so she would not go flying around :rolaugh:
I agree you need to have someone start it and get it up to temp. I would say once a month because the seals and hoses are going to suffer from sittin to long. You could leave the battery in there if your going to have it started once a month. Just put a battery tender on it and it will keep...
Agreed, you can get a simple snap connector that clips over the pos and neg from the back of the cig lighter and run the wire out the driver side if you like. Once you have the shifter bezel off you can run the wire to either side. Personaly I plug mine into the socket inside the center console...
Also gen IV cars have drive by wire and no throttle cable like the gen III cars. Nice to have the extra hp, if you can afford it. With a few bolt on thing like K&N filters deleted cross overs and a flashed computer on a gen 3 and bbk throttle bodies you can gain some good ponies.
Correct the smaller pistons should be in the back. They are proportioned to have less braking force in the rear so they don't lock up. I assume you are referring to the srt10 brakes, for your Gts? Make sure you have some sort of proportion valve on the system. The SRT brakes are not designed to...
I had this happen on my 06 as well. I kept screwing with the lock. Locked unlocked started the car shut it off. It cleared it self. Has not happened again. The battery terminal trick is what I would try. Before you spend money with the stealers, oops I mean dealers.
Looks like it does not pay to buy this Chinese junk. I had a feeling about this unit from the start but had my fingers crossed it would work. I'm glad I did not do this. I put a single din in with xm and iPod adapter and it works great sounds great. Cheap too.
Go to harbor freight and buy a pulley remover cheap. Your old pulley will most likely break on the way off since most do. Then you have to cut the hub off so be prepared to do this. You can get a $15 air cutting tool from Hft too to cut the hub.
Good luck
Why didn't you just pull the bulb to check it before ordering? I changed mine out to hid got a cheap set from eBay for about $40 and they worked great, did my fog lights too. Huge difference.
I think your best bet if your very interested in this car is to get in touch with the Viper club president in Alabama. I'm sure they would be able to find a member that is near the car and knowledgeable that would inspect it for you. We had something here in Ca, and I was contacted by the prez...
I always ran K&N oil filters on my Gts and still run them on my SRT10 I have been to the K&N factory and they spend lots of money and time researching and testing the filters. It also has a nice bolt head on the end which makes removal very easy. Never have experienced any problems on my Gts and...
By the description of the noise I would also guess its the coolent system and you could have some air in there. One thing you can do that is easy is get it running for about 5-10 mins so the coolent is hot and circulating. On the top of the water pump there is a bleeder valuve. Yu can put a...
I can sit down the street and watch corvettes go by all day. They are a dime a dozen. I could sit there for days or weeks waiting for a Viper to go by. In the end that is why I choose a Viper over a vette. Don't get me wrong I would like to get a nice automatic vette for my wife but the only one...
I put a Mopar unit in my 06. It did not work as advertised. The music cut in and out and it made my gauges go crazy. I fiddled with this for a long time, as well as adding a sirius radio to my RBQ head unit. The sirius unit worked okay but again not quite right with the display etc. (they where...
