modern dual clutch transmission would do it for me... a smaller lighter twin turbo engine with lots of low torque would be a plus, but probably too much to ask for...- FikseGTS

good write up... while I didn't have the power pulling issue, I did get the hot clutch and 2-3 lockout.... this was after many passes though, not just a couple like you did.... get some shorter tires for the rental and that should help the bog... It's a looooong first gear... shorter tires the better.... you'll need more than 5k to avoid the bog....- FikseGTS

looking forward to the results since we know you can drive... :) some of these C7's are $75k, I bet you can get into a new Viper for not much more before long.... I got a $15k discount on my new 2008 ACR when sales were slow.... I'm setting up another rental soon as the weather starts to...- FikseGTS

yea, but you can't use the power till 100 MPH! I was recently in a 1200 whp pump gas TT Viper (UGR) and it was the scariest ride I've ever had.... and it takes a lot to rattle me... :)- FikseGTS

doesn't happen with the Viper as often because they become borderline deathtraps if your not a really really good driver... The mid-engine, AWD config for the Gallardo makes them awesome to run big power with and many people spend big $$ on them to go that route... you can run a bolt on turbo...- FikseGTS

you're delusional and have brand googles on if you think the 12C isn't a subtsantial road course car.... with equivalent tires and driver, the 12C will have no problem with the Viper and ZR1....- FikseGTS

huh?? It's my 12C, sitting in my garage! It's not modified.... I have tons of slips, it's never once run in the 11's.... I personally raced a Gen V Viper side by side from a roll and pulled on it with no problem... I've beat a 911 turbo s, Ferrari 458, and ZR1 with no problem, the 12C...- FikseGTS

To me, the Gen V drives, sounds and acts just like the Gen 4, but for a lot more $$.... instead of working on performance tech like a DCT option or AWD, time was spent on the interior and electronics, which are ok, not great... People will spend big money on an American Exotic, but it's got...- FikseGTS

ACR at the Dragstrip

I've driven both and have lots of actual timesilps for both driven on the same day, not close at all... by the 1/8 mile, the 12C is going 7+ MPH faster.... anyone who wants to give the 12c a run let me know...- FikseGTS

Not happy today, just got beat, twice !
mid-engine helps a lot with RWD, my Ford GT and McLaren 12C do very well with a lot of weight sitting on the back tires, I ran 0-60 in 2.8 seconds on the street in the McLaren which is right there with the GT-R and 911 turbo. As power goes higher AWD is key though, especially for front engine...- FikseGTS

I hope so, would love to the Viper kill em all but SRT has to move on tech wise, I don't think adding more and more power with old tech is the solution... The American cars are just about the only ones left with no DCT options... McLaren, Ferrari, Porsche, Nissan, Audi, Lamborghini, Bugatti...- FikseGTS

Re: A more relevant race would be a 2013 VIPER vers the McLaren I've had 3 GT-R's my friend was the class rep in that suit, that was 5 years ago with the very early cars, no more issues like that after they revised the transmission programming... you can break any car with wheel hop and abuse...- FikseGTS

forget the magazines, I've personally run 10.3 @ 134.9 MPH in my McLaren.... I've made about 30 passes on 4 different days and the car never ran in the 11's... all in the 10's.... others have run well into the 10's as well... I've raced a ZR1 that had exhaust at the track and from a roll...- FikseGTS
