Ralph Gilles comments taken out of context - Pure Lunacy follows!

EXACTLY! Well said. I believe Ralph is a awesome car guy and just needs the greenbacks!

Orange TA #200006 on the truck from Woodhouse

Great looking car! Does it have exterior carbon fiber bits? Do you have any cabin drone with the windows up on easy throttle roll-ons when crusing with the headers? Usually this is present in teh 1500-2500 rpm range. Congrats again!

    Low Mileage Vipers

My '08 gets 3,000 to 4,000 per year. I have multiple cars and generally do not use the Viper for errands, work, etc. This level of use keeps the car pristine and gives me my muscle car fix!

Viper production slowed by one third due to sluggish sales

With all due respect, lack of Gen V sales has little or nothing to do with advertising and marketing (other than giving half-baked, ill-prepped cars/the wrong cars to the press). The proof is provided by repeat tests with similar results. The TA results are a marginal increase at...

Viper production slowed by one third due to sluggish sales

+1 I very much appreciate the hard work Dodge (Ralph and Sergio) did to even get a Gen V. Excellent! To succeed, I really think that certain matters need to be addressed: 1. As noted in this thread and others, power needs to be at or close to 700hp. Too many competitors. 2. The price...

Reached the tipping point: the stock 2013 exhaust interior dB level is unacceptable

Re: Reached the tipping point: the stock 2013 exhaust interior dB level is unacceptab My Gen IV has Corsas from Jon B and they produce dramatically better sound than stock. Stock sounded like a vacuum cleaner. I have never noticed drone on my Gen IV. I did notice drone on my C6Z with...

Gen V has it's work cut out for it at the Ring...

+1 except for the hammer part! The P1 has what 900+ hp, active downforce and a $1mil price tag? The currently fictitous Gen V ACR would be a success with a time in between 7:12 and the times of the P1, 918, La Ferrari, etc. I have a feeling that the next GM offerings (C7 Z06, ZR1--also...

World's Greatest Drag Race 3 Unplugged!

Hmm...every test, same result. Maybe Dodge--I mean SRT--needs to skip to Gen VI for a clean break? As a business owner, I cannot conceive of providing such a messed up car for testing. That said, even if the car actually had the seat bolted down, plastic pieces fully snapped-in...

Man...the Gen V can't catch a break (Another bad video review)

Exactly! How can every test that I have seen be discounted with "they do not know how to drive the Viper/the Viper has the wrong tires/they were too scared"? The TA Gen V "victory" over the old ZR1 is within the testing margin of error. If the Gen V was all-there performance wise (put the Gen...

    Motortrend's World's Greatest Drag Race 3: VIPER places 4th

Based on the results of the test, I for one am watching my mirrors for those AMG station wagons! Had the wagon passed the Gen II (I mean Gen V--very confusing) we would never have heard the end of it! Hope AMG does not produce a Mini Van! Come on Dodge-I mean SRT--give us a 700hp+ $110k...

    '13 GT500 vs '13 Viper - Video

Touchy, touchy! OK, the NEXT hypo Mustang will have IRS. And again, the point is that cars at a pricepoint of $60l--$80k less than the Gen V are putting out impressive factory power and this should push SRT, GM, Porsche, etc. I have a Gen IV and love it, but hope for much more with the Gen V...

    '13 GT500 vs '13 Viper - Video

For 2014 I believe Ford will give the GT500 a fully-independent rear suspension. With Ford flush with cash from operations, that could be a great car for a great value. I love all sportscars and especially like it when there is a $65k car with 662hp--this pushes/challenges all manufactures in...

MotorTrend Demonstrates Testing Procedures with the Gen V

Ah, your Gen V should be faster than your Gallardo in most, if not all, performance parameters. :usa:

250 miles in on my Viper - a few things I don't like...

+1 Dan is a solid guy, very knowledgeable a great to business with--I also happen to agree with him. I have a generation 4 and I am very glad that the Viper continues with generation 5. generation 5 is technically marginally better than generation 4 and you will get few arguments from generation...

SRT Viper vs SLS AMG Black Series

You guys are being a bit too tough on the tester. Impressions: 1. Multiple tests have now confirmed that Gen V, while a technically superior car to previous Vipers, is a cut and paste Gen IV.1. Most of the performance changes are easily made in the aftermarket (not all, such as some...

    GT3-R

For paddle tranmissions you want: (1) dual-clutch transmission (this (+ design + location + software) is what makes it faster than a manual); and (2) auto mode was well as manual mode, and various settings. Lambo Aventador uses a single clutch paddle shift and it has not been well received. If...

What do you think on where we placed at Le Mans?

Viper and Corvette were not behind because of inexperienced drivers; it was power restriction. I agree with the comments above: if there is not a realistic chance of winning, then save the zillions of $$$ for the program and avoid embarassment of the brand. Stock, the Viper and ZRI would...

What do you think on where we placed at Le Mans?

Viper and Corvette got hosed! No two ways about it. To bring a 640hp car down to 450--490hp is not really representative of anything. If they want an IROC Spec series, then just amend the rules accordingly. How about the other girlie car manufacturers produce actual production beasts like the...

Who's waiting for the ACR ( or track version of the gen V) ?

I am interested in a new ACR, but only with more power, meaner looks and current pricing. A car (well equipted for street comfort and limited track) over $120k--$130k or so (before tax and license)--especially from a domestic manufacturer--makes little sense to me. But then again, SRT is in a...

    GT3-R

Assuming that this car is based on the same motor as the Gen V, this may be instructive in terms of what's left in the motor vs. Gen V: 40 crank hp and 40 crank trq. Likely this comes from headers, no CATS and ecu changes. This would also tend to demonstrate the difficulty that SRT may have in...
