Haha, I have been following the sub enclosure but didn't really notice it was you doing it. Lol. Thanks for the recommendations on things to do. I have to do some thinking now.
I know there is a ton of science that goes into sound, and that is a black hole I try not fall into. I just go what sounds good and move on. No matter what I do, there is a big ol' corsa exhaust blasting out the sides of the car and anything helps
Peter, have you messed with the vipers system...
For the door speakers, I just hooked them up like the factory speakers were. So the factory tweeters are still in play. I might replace them with something down the road but I am pretty happy with the sound output. I went with coaxials because they were basically free with the stereo purchase...
I have only had my 06' coupe for a couple months now, but I can't stand the lame sound system that comes on a 90K car. I had an 03 vert before this and it didn't bother me that much because the top was usually down and sound quality was shot anyways. So I figured I would start playing around...
The v band can be a real pain in the ass. I used a bunch of wd40 to help loosen things up and used a long flat head screwdriver to work it around the "v" until it eventually popped free of the headers and cats. Good luck.
2nd viper at 29. I don't think the age thing really matters to most people. Used vipers are not bad considering a new 1/2 ton truck can set you back as much as a nice used viper. I just tell people that make odd comments that I spent a lot of time in the desert away from my family and they...
hi guys. Hoping you can answer my odd question here. I have a 06 coupe and decided to do some sound deadening this weekend. I did the entire trunk and behind the seats along with under the seats. Anyways, when removing the bulkhead/giant plastic thing behind the seats I noticed a random wire and...
Hi guys. I'm trying to spread the word about a 1/2 mile event going on in your backyard in September. All the spots are already filled and around 40 people on the waiting list but if your interested in getting on the waiting list, just follow up with wannagofast. I will be there in my 06 Paxton...
Not sure about the rattling noise, but the starting issue is probably battery related. Is it the original battery? A old battery that is on its way out does some funny stuff. There are a lot of posts with electrical issues that are usually cleared up with a new battery. I would start there.
You will find one just fine. You are already a few steps ahead of the most people in the fact that you have done some homework for things to look for. I am on my second gen III right now and because of careful buying, I have done pretty well. Here is a couple more things that I would recommend...
There are a few regular sets out there on ebay for pretty cheap, $109 I think. For that price, send it to a shop and get the stereo section filled and wrapped in carbon. I bet you would be it in less than half of any OEM option out there.
Here is the "official" video for your viewing pleasure.

and here is a link of some pictures of the event.

Also, there should be an event next year at the same location. Not sure on a...
I'm still working on that. I have a couple options to go with but I'm not going to worry about mounting until I get all the bugs worked out first.
I'm using a 32gb Asus nexus 7.
I did get the torque program up and running but I still need to work some stuff out. For some reason it asks me for the Bluetooth password every time I connect to the obd2 dongle. As for the program itself, its pretty cool. You can customize a lot of stuff. One thing I have noticed is it lags a...
Not sure about contractors as I did my epoxy floor myself. But, cost for materials ran about $800 for my 24x25' two car garage. The products I used were from sherwin Williams. If you want a breakdown of what is needed, let me know. If I had to guess a price from contractors.... Around 3k. It is...
As far as I know the engine management is whatever comes with the Paxton kit. I have a SCT tuner waiting for a tune down the road, but she runs good for the time being.
Hi guys, I need a little insight here.
I have purchased two different Bluetooth OBD2 dongles to work with a tablet for running programs like torque. The problem I am having is both dongles are not powering on. I tried both dongles in different vehicles and they work fine. Is there something...
Any luck with the ODB2 Bluetooth adapter?
I just purchased this:

I does NOT work with the viper. I don't know why, it works fine with my Honda...
There were several vipers there. I believe treesnake was the fastest viper there with a speed around 190, but he could tell you exactly what the speed was. There was also a gen III that go up to 150. That's the fastest n/a GenIII we have had at any wannagofast event. Top speed of the weekend was...
The fit part isn't an issue. Most people or shops with a little fabrication skills can trim plastic to make it fit. The hard part is incorperating it with the car to have a seamless operation. The double din units out there do this well. I wish the vipers had steering wheel controls. It would...
I have been doing a ton of research for this. There seem to be two though processes. The first is to use an aftermarket or factory stereo and connect the tablet through the headphone jack or use bluetooth. The second approach is using the tablet as a stand alone unit. Both approaches need a lot...
I just sold my 03 last week and purchased a 06 coupe. Here are a couple thing to think about.
-Its way easier to get in and out of a convert with the top down
-you have to open trunk to lower/raise soft top. Sucks if you are in the south with surprise rain showers
-there is some more interior...
