    Aluminum flywheel advise please

I went ot an AL flywheel when I replaced the clutch and slave syl. The only Seat of the Pants difference is that the car runs up through its rev range faster between shifts. Otherwise, it does seem to get quite as much jump from a complete stop (but though I rarely do that anyway). On my list...

    Locked out, Batteries Dead (HELP)

Back hatch requires no battery. Open it, reach in and trip the emergency (i.e., mechanical not elctrical) lever on the inner door post on either door to open the door. Hood should also open with no battery needed. Hook up a Battery Tender (T.M.) to the battery post there (covered by red...

Pics or Description of Brake Duct Routing ?

Can some who have done so effectively describe (or better yet, post pics) of where they routed their brake ducting without cutting any holes. If holes had to be cut, where and how did they cut them ? I am sick of those ineffective P-car deflectors.

    Nausea/Sickness from High HP

At RoadAtlanta, my neighbor/passenger, who swore he did not get car sick, forgot the universal "going to the pits" signal of holding his fist up (as I had advised him should he feel sick or see something wrong). As we were passing yet another Porsche 911, he began to gesticulate with his left...

    Brake Bias/Proportioning Spring/O-Ring

I have done this to my car. Bob Woodhouse and Dean Word have at times done this to their cars as well. My uneducated understanding is that the removal of the O-ring (& spring) removes the combination valve's built in threshold/knee point past which it delivers less line pressure to the rear...

    HP gain with headers???

Take a look at the FAQs on this site. On my GTS, my SVS headers and 3" exhaust and enlarged airbox in combination added only an incremental 3o or so rwhp over stock with K&Ns.

    '00 RT/10 vs. '03 Porsche GT2 to 160 mph...

Re: \'00 RT/10 vs. \'03 Porsche GT2 to 160 mph... Pete, I would love to claim that I drive 1:38s consistently, but in honesty I did it one day about a year or so ago. I was running alot of 1:39s and one or maybe two 1:38s that day. That was with Hoosiers, headers, exhaust, cats and coil...

    hanging idle . .what gives

You described my symptoms exactly ! My Viper tech traced it to a voltage signal (or something like that ) coming from my VEC . I trust my tech to have traced tyhe source corretly, but given the number of people who have experienced this symptom it must have a myriad of other possible causes...

My car threw a speed sensor code. Huh ?

I have a 97 GTS. This one's a new one on me. Could it just be the sensor's gone kaput ? It first did it when I did a burnout in a parking lot. I rarely do them and thought it must be the computer wigging out due to by "new" driving style. ;^) Other than telling the speedometer how fast the...

    Stupid Brake Question?

Been there, done that. By putting the stock front calipers on the rear the rearward bias just cannot be overcome without using appreciably larger front brakes (6 pisotn etc.) Many Viper Days racers have done it, but you need (i) brackets to accommodate the front caliper, (ii) 18" wheel on...

Dropped a Mov'it brake caliper on the freeway - aka "case of the missing locktite"

Re: Dropped a Mov\'it brake caliper on the freeway - aka \"case of the missing locktite\" WOW!!! I literally just picked my car up because the tech had not put locktitie on my caliper after rebuilding them. It fell off inside the wheel, damaged the wheel, caliper, line, knuckle etc. He's...

Had my butt handed to me...

Corect me if I'm wrong, but the TT with all wheel drive is probably faster to 100. It's above that speed, however, that the fun really begins in the Viper. At RoadAtlanta, the TTs beat me to about 80-100, but in third and fourth, it isn't close. In the braking zone, however, they're right...

Ever have the feeling that your Viper just isn't as "Snappy" as it was before ??

Re: Ever have the feeling that your Viper just isn\'t as \"Snappy\" as it was before ?? The K&Ns require a soaking with their oil to filter properly. Go to Pep Boys or other auto shop that sells K&Ns and they'll have the filter recharger kit.

    Best shock/spring combination for street/track

I have double adjustable JRZs (Moton shocks are virtually the same as the guy there came from JRZ). The spring rates I have were intended as a base to start from and are 600 F and 800R. The Viper Days racers are running like 1200 R and who knows up front (probably like 700-1,000). My bump is...

Has anyone retrofitted 01 or 02 ABS on pre 01's?

Re: Has anyone retrofitted 01 or 02 ABS on pre 01\'s? I considered putting the rear caliper on my 1997 GTS for the slightly more piston areas it offers, but the '01-specific bracket that mounts it is like $500+. At that point I gave up.

    Clutch Life?

Replaced mine at 22,500. It was just about shot. While in there, if you drive road courses, put in a lightweight flywheel. Not a huge difference, but noiceably crisper accel. through the rev range. Also go ahead and replace the slave cylinder, pressure plate and maybe even master cylinder.
