I certainly understand that it is a niche market. thats part of the reason I own one.
Having said that, the term 'market flood' was intended to be relative to what has been available in the last couple of years. I am not suggesting that it will be a 'Corvette' type availablility. Just that I...
Lot of questions for those that are purchasing the new Gen V cars. Here's another one.
Are those that are stepping up early trading a current Viper in or buying outright ? Of course also a possibility that they are new to the Viper period.
So if most buyers of the new Gen V's are in fact...
Sure the thread took a turn towards other exotics but that started right off the bat when the OP mentioned a 2012 Ferrari and a Prowler to replace his Viper. Not sure sure either one of those fall into the practical or less expensive category.
We are all car guys...and girls, so Dream car...
I'm with Jon....I drive mine less often and it makes it that much better. I am lucky enough to have few toys so I like to mix it up a bit. I get bored very easily and if I drove the Viper every day, I would want something different really soon. I rather add to the stable when it makes sense.
I...
Looking at the options list, there is no question that there will be very few Vipers that are identical out there. That has been the case in the past but with the this extended list I can see more and more of the 1/1 and 1/2's being made. This approach will make for some unique cars and I like...
Nothing new to report. I put some fuel cleaner in the car and ran some fresh fuel through it. Of course hoping for the easy solution. No difference.
Have tried to locate a vacuum leak.....and have not found anything obvious.
Have put a few miles on the car just to try to get a really good idea...
The response for the look of the GTS-R has been pretty overwhelming. Everyone is wanting this to become reality on a street version. So of this is the futurure ACR I think it will be far more expensive than the std line up of the Viper. Maybe not as much as 180K but I cant see how it could be...
Not sure what you are questioning on my post....I thought it was pretty clear. Here it is again.
- I like the new GTS hood because it something different (new and fresh) and I personally think it works better with the rest of the car design.
- I don't like the gilled, vented, hood as well...
Well since this is all about opinions....here's my take.
I have always like the Gen 4 hood since its really aggressive. Thought I would like it on the Gen V as well. Having said that, I really prefer the new GTS type hood. This because it something you wont see on older Vipers ....something...
This pic is just a different angle than the picture in the new 'pic of SRT hood' thread.
Same parking lot (notice the yellow lines in front of the car). Same shot with the sun from behind. 6 vents on the hood.
Matt
As a matter of fact we get 4 channels in Dolores. 3 shopping channels and then Fox....so we are pretty much screwed.
So yeah....maybe I shouldn't have said 'right now' as in this very moment....more like 'these last several weeks'. I deserve getting picked on for that one.

Hey,
There is a commercial on TV right now featuring a great looking Black Challenger. Funny as well with the 'Stop sign' and "Left lane club'.
Question is, can anyone tell me what rims are on that Challenger ?
Black center and chrome/polished outer section of rim.
Thanks
Matt
....and Yes...
What I am saying is that SRT should listen to feedback from all the owners, regardless if they bought the car new or used. They purchased and own a Viper, therefore they are the main target group.
So Yes...of course, they have to sell them new initially but the people that buy the cars when...
SRT should most definitely listen to all feedback. The secondary market is huge. If its only the guys that buy it new that they are targeting then the dealers will end up with an immense inventory of cars that they cant sell.
So they may loose a few guys that liked them in the past. That's...
Just because someone is new to this forum doesn't mean they are novice in the performance car market. I would wager that there are plenty of people (on this forum) that are not VCA members (ONLY enthusiasts), have less than 100 posts, that may not just have a serious collection of cars but are...
I agree......there is to much 'Love this and Hate that' talk going on. The only thing that truly will make an impact in determining whether this was a good move or not by SRT is looking back at the initial sales numbers about a year or so from now.
My personal take is that the car hasn't...
I do not doubt that many dealers have the same issues in regards to letting some clown drive a car that they do not have any business driving. What I was reacting to was not that fact but rather that we, the future buyers, should have to go out and solicit dealer and talk to them to ensure that...
Really....give me a break.....WE should not have to go out and do anything to feel better about purchasing a new Viper. THEY need to ensure, before the car is released to the public, that the network is in place to support the new car properly. This can most definitely, as has been mentioned...
gbatejan.........Well, thanks for the heads up for a Denver Viper tech but that is actually even further. 450 miles to be exact
I live in the four corners area and Phoenix is closer for me than Denver. I am on the other side (the good one) of the Rocky Mountains from you.
So its pretty...
With the approach to order directly form the factory....that seems to make it even worse for implementing a good service network.
So maybe Chrysler/Dodge/SRT needs to take a different approach and rather than sweet talking a few select dealers into offering the products....tell them !!
Tell...
I think that this is a huge issue for Chrysler/Dodge/SRT to figure out.
I am dealing with it as we speak. Have an issue with my low mileage 06. Contacted the Super store where I bought the car and the best they can offer me is...' it could be anything....take it to a Viper tech'. I realize that...
You would pay 125 in a 'blink' but not consider 135 or 137.........?
If someone is willing to buy something for 125K, then another 10K is really not a big deal.
Its not all about the price. If the car is as good as promised....it will sell.
Matt
Thanks for the responses.
I run a Corsa exhaust. Definitely missing both under boost and when not. No CEL. Autolite plugs....don't know the number, will have to check. I did not re-gap to lesser gap. Will check all connections I can get to.
Will change the plug wires. I did put a cleaner (BRG)...
