I did this today! NO ONE should pay to have this done, it is the easiest job to do on the viper.
I used the towel method that someone mentioned to keep the door in place. Took about 30 min total for both sides.
#1 remove 5 screws holding plastic piece in front of door. I used 5/16...
Hey Chuck, not to highjack the thread, but how much is the door weatherstriping on both sides of an 01 RT/10? I adjusted the doors so they don't sag, but it is far too late to save the rubber that has been rubbing from before I owned the car. Thanks.
Saw this today, the funniest part was the guy going to CAAP to check out his new SRT10, he gets in and says, "Huh, looks like it has a nice stereo" Hope this isn't anyone here. If he wanted just a stereo he probably could have been just as happy with a Scion. Did anyone else watch this today?
Is the AC compressor always running no matter where the dial is set? The last couple of days have been in the 60's at night so I have been running the heat with the vent knob set on the right side for defrost, yet when I park the car it is still dripping wet with condensation. Anyway way to...
Or if your cheap like me, go to home depot and have them cut two pieces of 2x12 and drive either the front or back of your car right up on them to raise the car a couple of inches and then just use your ordinary $40 jack from autozone.
Dan, that's an awesome deal! Wish you'd been selling at that price back in May when I bought mine, I would have certainly taken yours instead. Anyway bump for those in the market for buying.
If the service engine soon light has illuminated, then the computer has recorded a trouble code. Identifying what the code is will be a start to troubleshooting. With just plugs and thermostat I do not believe the light should have come on. It is probably something simple though, I would...
You could try jumping it with two cars. If I recall correctly it says to try this in the owners manual. You are cranking over a V10 so you might need the extra amps.
You might check out Cuyahoga National Park, when you get a chance. It has plenty of two lane windy roads with no traffic and really scenic views. Take 90 W to 275 S and its a few miles off of Rt. 8 in Cuyahoga Falls.
Welcome to the snowbelt. Think of it this way, you'll save mileage on your viper, cause there is only viper weather for like 1 month out of the year there. I remember it snowing 2 feet at the end of april a couple of years ago. Good luck..nice garage though.
Chuck, That sounds like a great deal. I may try to get the wheel down too you later in the week, if I can't find something reasonable here in Port Richey. I yahooed the directions to your place. Looks like 40 minutes from here. I appreciate the quick response.
Once again for the second time now in 4 months of viper ownership I have picked up a screw one of the back tires! Florida doesn't believe in street sweepers and every intersection has a pickup load of debris and crap to run over.
The first time this happened was the 2nd day I owned my viper...
Changed spark plugs today in my 01 RT10. Everything went really smooth. I took my time with it, making sure to verify a 0.035" gap on every one. It took about an hour. Cylinder #9 was kind of a bitch, I removed the harness holding the wires to get at it. Also when I removed the boot on #1...
I have been working on this project for a couple of nights. These photos were taken in my driveway just before dark. This is just the first one I have done, but I thought it turned out really sharp looking. The picture shown here does not do the piece any justice. But I would like to know...
