    Viper GTS vs 991 Turbo-S

This is true but only to a point, as long as you buy what suits you and maximize your buying power:D

    Viper GTS vs 991 Turbo-S

So do you like it because you bought it or did you buy it because you liked it? Car owners tend to be very biased when the car they own is compared to another. Buyers also tend to defend their purchase, before and after the purchase.

    Viper GTS vs 991 Turbo-S

No doubt Viper stands out more, this is exactly what it supposed to do. On the other hand, do you want Schwarzenegger to open his mouth or would you prefer Kenneth Branagh, especially when reciting Shakespeare?

    Viper GTS vs 991 Turbo-S

For substance, this video carried no substance. As someone commented on the video, nothing less than a Porsche infomercial, intentionally or not.

    Viper GTS vs 991 Turbo-S

Isn't the latest GTR, especially the Nismo, faster than Turbo S on both drag strip and track? The thing about high performance cars is that there is always a car that is faster but the moment comes when you have to decide which is the one suiting you, the one you enjoy driving and one that you...

Is the SRT Viper an instant classic??

A classic is an outstanding example of a particular style, something of lasting worth or with a timeless quality. The word can be an adjective (a classic car) or a noun (a classic of English literature). It denotes a particular quality in art, architecture, literature, design, technology, or...

    Viper GTS vs 991 Turbo-S

I think if the buyers demanded proper engine placement, the Beetle roots would be gone long time ago. Porsche certainly tried to abandon the Beetle long time ago, starting with 914 but unfortunately the buyers always felt otherwise. In all fairness, the new Corvette still looks a lot like the...

Massive GM Recall = One Good Reason to get a Viper instead of a Vette

Yes, the newest recall makes the numbers staggering, almost seems like Barra had been set up, LOL. And completely agreed regarding testing sourced out parts, penny wise and pound foolish. If you are real interested, you should check out the newest Stingray quality control comedy, with GM...

Massive GM Recall = One Good Reason to get a Viper instead of a Vette

The problem may be caused by the supplier or faulty design. but in the end, it is never a supplier's fault or problem, unless the supplier is allowed to sell directly to the end buyer. GM has a crappy customer service and lacks effective quality control programs, it is a fact. All...

    Gen V & Challenger Hellcat

Assuming your 550 is rwhp, Hellcat may actually have less power than your car. I just hope Chrysler has enough common sense to include modifications your car has, including that big displacement blower, but this is yet to be seen.

    Gen V & Challenger Hellcat

I think that would depend on how the torque management is set up and how strong the rear end is... From what I see, DRs are no longer an universal cure to lack of traction...

    Gen V & Challenger Hellcat

New Z06 is like the Monkeys, all about marketing hype that apparently appeals to receptive masses who choose to discard reason and common sense and gladly replace it with Juechter's assurances. Spin doctors turned the new plastic fantastic into a super car before it even came out, I am truly...

    Gen V & Challenger Hellcat

The new Z06 is heavier and has less hp than even the current Gen 5, how is this exactly a reason for Viper's demise? The latest GTR is faster in straight line and handles better than the latest Turbo S. As far as cars equipped with manual transmission go, there is no way the new Z will outrun...

    Gen V & Challenger Hellcat

Understood and agreed and this is why I clearly stated marketing is based on perception instead of facts. I am pretty sure I will not be shopping for either Mustang or Challenger anytime soon:D

    Gen V & Challenger Hellcat

Ford did not bump power on Shelby until GT was no longer produced. GM kept the hp lower on supercharged versions of Camaro and CTSV than on ZR1. Marketing is not about facts, it is mainly about perception. By all accounts, Viper should gain a supercharger, either across the board or at least...

A warning about G3 Carbon LLC and Alan Eosso to anyone considering CF work

To put it mildly, this guy is considerably worse than Steve Prescott aka Vipair. Do not ask me how I know but I think it is important people around here are warned. I hope mods will not delete this thread because car enthusiasts should be warned. There are countless records of this guy...

Picked up a different kind of beast...

This is one fast car:2tu: I would not go by Cd alone although it is indeed very impressive, what really matters is Cd x A and L/D ratio and GTR is rather tall and wide. Outstanding car nevertheless. Since you pack extra hp, are there any issues with warranty? From what I see, prices on GTR...

They look very nice, complementing the car:2tu:

    Need advice on these.

Why would you care what others think regarding the looks if this is your money? HRE would not sell these rims without first finding out if they fit and they would be to ask since they have the offset and backspacing info. Wider rear tires will give you more traction and hook up but at expense...

Done with car shopping-no Gen 5 after all, crossing to the dark side instead

This info is on the internet and plenty of it. No big fat tires are needed because the car weighs hefty 2500 lbs:D

Done with car shopping-no Gen 5 after all, crossing to the dark side instead

Well, I'll let you guys fight this one out. I seriously doubt I will ever need more power but if I do, I am not bound by anything at all, including ECU software or emissions regulations (yes, my car is completely exempt from emissions laws).
