Wife passes on 2013 Viper GTS

One day, a long time ago, there lived a woman who didn't whine or complain and totally supported her man in car-related decisions. But that was a long time ago and just that one day. The end:)

Curb rash on CCW wheel - repair recommendation?

Check to see if there's a Wheel America by you. They do a good job for about $125 per wheel.

    Kangarooing at low RPM

THIS. If its as bad as mine was before it was addressed it'll slap your u-joints around in a bad way. You can set the RPM above which the ECU completely cuts fuel to the injectors when the throttle position is decreased. Its basically for spirited driving.....if you're cranking at 4000 rpm...

    C6 Z06s

That's pretty definitive......when both are stock the Gen IV wins. I had an 08 Z06, liked it but sold it because for some reason it just didn't feel as "connected" to the driver or the road as a C5Z or my Gen 2. Great car for sure but not for me.

Looking for a compact spare wheel & tire.

Not on GTSs. The dabate was waged several times over the past few years, I looked for the definitive posts from the experts but couldn't find it. You may be able to find it....the best info exchanges were a couple of years ago. I think there may be a difference between the GTSs and RT/10s...

Looking for a compact spare wheel & tire.

I think a lot of people keep 'em.....if you're on a trip its way easier to carry the limp-along than to tote an extra full-sized wheel. I've eliminated mine (in favor of a big sub) but keep it around in case I go 100's of miles away from all my tires!

Any tips for closing the hood by yourself? ---

The upkeep on Dom's hood closers'd break me though. I think I'll just keep using my palm..... (double entendre intended)

I'd be surprised if its still around.....since that was almost 8 years ago! :)

Any tips for closing the hood by yourself? ---

I find that flipping the hand latch manually after you lower the hood into position makes the last pushing-down part require significantly less effort (and therefore less stress on the hood). Not required and probably a function of the exact set-up/adjustment, but wouldn't be bad to try the...

Road Atlanta 7/28-7/29 with Chin Motorsports?

You should shoot for 35-37 hot. I've found that if you measure the pressures after coming in, you've already lost a pound or two so I try to get 35 in the paddock (or 37 if I'm lucky enough to talk someone into taking pressures and temps in the hot pit. If you get to 40+ the car will slide...

Used Hoosier A6 race slicks just listed

BTW, my only data on the A6s come from the group of C5Z guys here that do get 8-10 sessions out of a set running 10-15 minutes sessions. Vipers and C5Zs may handle them differently - looking for your impressions of 'em.

What Retro Cars Would YOU like to See?

Not exactly muscle but a modern interpretation of the 59 Cadillac would be a great cruiser.

    Parking Brake - Works Sometimes

Thanks for the pic. I figured it was a console deal since you really can't access any of that stuff from underneath. I'll pull the console and have a look to see what's wrong.

What tool to use to cut about 1/2" Of the wheel studs?

Agreed, get new shorter ones and press them in....you will definitely degrade the current ones by cutting them down. Or you could go with something like this which accommodates longer studs...

Used Hoosier A6 race slicks just listed

Not to distract from the thread, but how do you use the A6s? I use R6s and pretty much run them until they cord....I've heard that the A6s don't like more than a couple of laps (I run TTU in the SE so a couple of laps is fine); but if you have experience running them for 15-20 minutes at a time...
