One SERIOUS poser mod that blew everybody away! (pics)

Nice touch! It really does look like it fits with the rest of your car's styling!

Paying OVER MSRP for a Ford Escape?? Why!

I saw one of these at a local dealership available to buy for $32K. You would figure that most people would just shop around to find one where they are not in such local demand. I'd personally rather buy one for $30K from some far away dealer (and pay another $1K for shipping) than pay $40K...

    Copperhead in VIPER Magazine

The color reminds me of the 1994 Corvette copper paint. They only made a few because it was a hard color to paint consistantly. :( I had figured that the Copperhead Viper color was going to be the same as the Copperhead concept with a bright orange with yellow tinted highlight...

    Help est. my HP?

The early GTSs are quite powerful. I'd guess with your mods you should dyno around 460RWHP/500RWTQ, or roughly 515-535HP/585TQ (crank) Vipers power, and power gains vary depending on the year, and individual car. Your forged piston Viper might make more power from the headers...

GM reveals new Z06 Performance specs!

565RWHP is over 650HP at the crank. :2tu: I make just a bit less power (546RWHP/607RWTQ) and my best trap speed is 127MPH. In fact I can't think of any car that traps at 128MPH with less than 600HP (crank) :D The Ford GT has trapped at 131MPH, but it is very underrated and...

    SRT-10 Viper crash in Saratoga

I was driving up a favorite local twisty mountain road a couple hours ago and came across a mangled silver SRT-10 Viper facing me in my lane. It looked like the accident had only happened a few minutes earlier. The front passenger side seemed to have most of the damage and it looks...

Coupe: NEW color AND wheels!! (REAL PICS)...

I like the styling of the SRT-Coupe. Certainly much more than the Comp Coupe, which is wildly impractical for the street, and very heavy in the rear. The only thing lacking to me is no power boost for the coupe. :(

    SRT-10 or Porsche 997 S Cabriolet

Terry, Good luck with your new 997. It has been reviewed very well so far. I was actually going to take those other guys bets that you wouldn't get the Viper. No flame intended, it's just that I heard "daily driver" louder in your comments more than "unique powerhouse", so I figured that you...

    Corvette Prototypes in Monterey, CA

Well I'll say I always liked the Sting Ray III, and agree that it was a mistake that GM went with the C5 design over the more aggressive concept design, I also liked the Aero Vette, and those other concept cars shown there. :D Just because I like other cars and their styling doesn't take a...

    Stripes on an RT/10?

I like the stripes as they really enhance the Viper's racey looks. :2tu: For a silver Viper I'd pick blue first because it was a factory combination (and looks good). And for my second choice I'd pick charcoal stripes.

EBC brake pads... anyone tried the "redstuff" series?

Re: EBC brake pads... anyone tried the I have greens in front and reds in back. They work just fine for me. The greens have a fraction of the dust and squeal of the stock Viper brake pads. And the reds are also quiet and dust more than the greens, but not as much as the stock pads.

Other than the Viper, what exotic car holds it's value well?

Re: Other than the Viper, what exotic car holds it\'s value well? Funny guys. And you are right, I have zero experience owning an exotic car. Especially a Lamborghini. You two are clearly enthusiasts, having bit the bullet and bought Diablos for yourselves. My perspective is clearly not one...

Other than the Viper, what exotic car holds it's value well?

Re: Other than the Viper, what exotic car holds it\'s value well? I wasn't considering the 11 years as a point of depreciation, but simply being an 14 year old Italian car, from the point of maintenance, parts availability, and cost. I can buy a 14 year old Rolls Royce for about $25K, It also...

Other than the Viper, what exotic car holds it's value well?

Re: Other than the Viper, what exotic car holds it\'s value well? Just as another view I'd suggest getting a Lotus Elise. It's different, rare, fun, and would be a great contrast to the Viper experience in the power delivery and handling. Far more than the Viper, cars like the...

Gen III Forum Now with the Coupe Does it seem...

The Diablo is definitely a wild, exotic car. And it's one of the few cars that draw stares as much as the Viper does. And is even rarer to see on the streets. But one of the greatest reasons why I bought a Viper was that beyond being a dream car that is truly fast, it's a car that I can happily...

    Cream puff with Nitrous

I think that 150 shot is safe for a wet system. Personally, I wouldn't go over 200 shot on a creampuff. Just make sure that you dyno the car with the N2O to be sure of the A/F mixture.

    Losing Interest

I'm still quietly hoping that before the C6 Z06 hits production that D/C will announce a lighter weight, 625HP+, ACR model Viper with Moton shocks, as a $10K package. They set our expectations with the carbon fiber body panel SEMA show car (billed as an ACR model), and even if the car came out...

Why Don't You Just Paint It?

Re: Why Don\'t You Just Paint It? I saw the 2002 blue/silver striped GTS/ACR VCA raffle car and just loved the color combination, so I repainted my R/T10 in the same colors. Being a non-factory color combo (and the fact that R/T10s don't come with stripes) no doubt would make...

    Height issues...

Lowering your seat improves many things about driving the Viper (for people 6' and above). First off your head is under the sports cap (rollbar) which feels more secure. And you don't have to duck down with the top on, and you don't feel so claustrophobic. Plus you are no longer staring at...

Add another 500HP car to the ring.

That car's biggest enemy is the 2004 SVT Cobra which can be tweaked to have 600HP+ for under $40K (including the car). :2tu: I actually like the styling of the new Mustang, but in 2 years Ford (Shelby) will have their own factory-warrantied, 500HP Mustang for somewhere around $40K, and this...

    SRT8 tax

Yep, that's exactly why the automakers have pushed truck and SUV sales, to avoid CAFE mileage requirements. And the results are not that we have more economical cars, but that we have tons of trucks and SUVs all over, and stupid taxes on performance cars. A fair tax would be soley...

    Gear break in period

I didn't do the break-in right with one set of gears and they were ruined in 600 miles (I had to buy a whole new set and try again). It could have been the installation tolerances from the guys who installed them, but for the second set of gears, I followed the break in instructions carefully...

Anybody change the side Viper emblems?

Re: Anybody change the side Viper emblyms? I'm guessing that you mean the side/fender lettering. Use a blow dryer to heat up the letters first, and use dental floss to get behind them, pulling across to break the adhesive seal. Make sure that you carefully measure the proper placement and...

Who's Yellow RT/10 Got walked by this Civic? Video Inside!

Re: Who\'s Yellow RT/10 Got walked by this Civic? Video Inside! You can make anything fast with enough money and effort. I saw a "Civic" (hollow shell of a dragracer) running 10s at the track, but it's the kind of car that makes a dozen runs and then needs a rebuild. And of course like...
