As I said in the other thread, I'm in as well. Based on Scott's post, let's keep this thread at the top for a couple more days and see where we are, then figure out where to send the money.
Re: Before and after HP, Torque and Air /fuel graph on 8 PSI bolt on blower..
I bet not half as stunned as whoever is driving that dyno-pegging Mbn car at about 3300 rpm. Will that car hook up at all below 80-100 mph?
Re: Looking for pictures of Vipers with Forgeline VR1\'s ..
The VR-1's are available in 18's, if that's what you want.
BM, I don't know about your theory, but 19" rears do have a slightly larger contact patch as well, which would be a plus on the traction side. Unfortunately, neither that nor...
Joyce, I am so sorry to hear about Nick's setback, and you and Scott can rest assured that my prayers have been added to the many others. God bless all of you in this difficult time, and please let me know if there is anything at all I can do.
Modifying the rear sensors in that fashion won't help, but I'm not sure you need any help anyway with a '98 PCM. I'm not sure when the check engine trip for the cats was added to the PCM, but I know the '96 PCM didn't have it. Someone will chime in that knows. If yours does have it, you'll...
I think the speed ratings are for sustained use above the stated speed. So while you don't want the BFG's for your Silver State car, they should be fine for 1/4 mile or street encounters.
Re: B&B 1-3/4
LT4, yes, it would be in place of the cats to tone it down, and you're correct that's not part of the B&B setup. You would buy the catless B&B system and have them welded or clamped in front of the B&B muffler where the cats were.
I don't know how much power he's making but SW ran a 10.01 at Beech Bend last summer, so he's got to be in that neighborhood or a little above. And I think JP H e n n e s s e y stated recently he only knew of 3 or 4 n/a Vipers with over 600 rwhp, and maybe one or two of those were at or around...
Re: B&B 1-3/4
Any of the common systems with no cats is going to be pretty loud. I have heard that the full B&B with a Dynomax bullet muffler welded in place of the cat (retaining the standard B&B muffler just behind it) produces a nice deep sound that is much more tolerable than the...
Yeah I'm still laughing about the one in the last issue (I think) where the guy asked whether he damaged his transmission by failing to notice he was going 90 mph in 1st gear. And instead of pointing out his engine would have been at almost 10,000 rpm and that the rev limiter wouldn't have...
Sean, now that we've drooled all over the dyno sheet, perhaps the best question is, has anyone actually tried to drive that car on the street yet? I just wonder if even slicks or drag radials would put that monster torque hit to the pavement??
Re: 18
Adam, this is just a hunch, but I think the BFG's would be a little better in a straight line, and the Kumho's would be significantly better through the turns.
Daniel, doesn't your car have 9005's in it? I know there are some Viper spec sheets floating around that say it has 9006's, but Sean told me I needed 9005's for my '01, and when I removed mine that's what they were. I don't know what the 9006's look like though--perhaps they're interchangeable?
