Dealer Called me this AM, The Viper is Ready!

Together Again! Brought the car back to the dealer on Saturday by flatbed. Got a call this morning from the service manager that the engine is back in and the car is ready to go. (Be still my beating heart!) He told me the dealership owner took it out for a short trial run to make sure it is...

Question on bleeding brakes and brake fluid

Looks like Motul brake fluid it is, thanks for the info guys, I only go to have fun, and only make about 10 laps a time at the Gingerman, maybe twice a year, that's it. I just don't want to go for the brake pedal one day, and find it goes right to the floor, especially with a joy rider on...

thanks everybody at Chrysler Service Contracts!

I gotta tell you, I have had nothing but great assistance from everyone connected with the engine work on the Viper, and getting the car back to the dealer. I had it flatbedded home in October, (paid for that one myself), but Chrysler service contract paid for the return. Everyone I spoke with...

Question on bleeding brakes and brake fluid

The car goes back to the dealer on Saturday (3/16/02) for engine installation, and at the same time, I am going to have the brake fluid changed. I do go to the track to play around with the car once in a while (just for fun), but I understand that there is a heavier duty brake fluid that I...

Finally! The Viper is going to get it's engine back!

Re: Finally! The Viper is going to get it\'s engine back! I don't see where an Arrow rebuild should hurt the value of the car in any way. To me, it would make it worth more knowing that the leaky heads and shifted sleeves problem has been fixed by Arrow. If I were a potential buyer, it would...

Finally! The Viper is going to get it's engine back!

Re: Finally! The Viper is going to get it\'s engine back! Brad, Mine went back to Arrow in late October, and it came back late November. It's been sitting in the crate at the dealership since then. Got a new clutch, etc for it, so it will all go back in as new. Checked with Arrow about leaving...

Re: Finally! The Viper is going to get it\'s engine back! Come on up to Michagan in the summer (end of June to beginning of July) Ha! No, we do have a fairly long season to enjoy the Viper, usually April to end of October, maybe even up to Thanksgiving if lucky.

How can I post photos now that Photopoint is offline?

Tony, The engine is still in the big blue box from Arrow. It won't go in to the car until I can drive it home from the dealer, probably the end of next month! As soon as I get some seat time again, I'll let you know if I noticed any difference. (Sure am hoping that it shows some marked...

How can I post photos now that Photopoint is offline?

Thanks Tony, looks like some great improvements coming! Soon I hope. Gregg, thanks for the free web site info. Photopoint started out being free, then it wasn't free anymore, now it may not come back, or if it does, the price may go from $10.00 per year to $5.95/month, just to store photos. Not!

How can I post photos now that Photopoint is offline?

Haven't visited Photopoint in a while and now I find it is offline and maybe won't come back at all. How can a post photos now that Photopoint is gone? I took a few pics from the Grand Rapids car show that I wanted to post of the Dodge Charger concept car and the Pronto sports car concept...

Engine is out..new clutch time, extras?

I got new silicone lifetime hoses (kit) from Sean Roe Racing. They come with the air bleeder valves on them to make it easier to bleed all the air out of the hose lines. Helps the engine to run cooler. Did not get the aluminum flywheel, may have second thoughts about that later.

Broke down and bought an open trailer, how do I tie the Viper down???

I'm not the world's best expert when it comes to tying down a Viper on a trailer, but there are slots in the front and rear of the frame of a Viper for use by Relaible (the only authorized Viper transporter), or for an owner such as yourself for transporting your Viper. I believe it takes a...

    Head Gasket Leak REPAIRED!!

Were your head gaskets leaking antifreeze or oil? Mine leaked both, and thus the Dodge decision to do a rebuild, as I think oil and antifreeze indicate that a sleeve has shifted! Glad you had yours fixed and there was no sleeve damage!

    Plant Tour Question

Guys, You might want to contact your local chapter president to see what can be set up that way too! The tour lasts about an hour and a half or so, and the store takes even longer! Ha! I don't think there is an age limit on the young'uns Mark, and the hotels are not that far away. I stayed...

What are those knobs on the sides of the seats for??

The rubber bulb hangs down from the seat, and it takes a bit of pumping to inflate the air bag for the lumbar support, but it does work quite well on longer trips to inflate it or deflate it. It changes your back support and makes the trip a bit more comfortable.

    GTS-R or COBRA

I don't think you will see a GTS-R for the street, it is strictly for racing, and that's it. Maybe Rich H. can jump in here to clarify further, but I don't think it will ever be street legal.

    ARRGGGG!!! Gen.1 glovebox issues

I was having the same problems with mine. I had to manually reset the hook on the door so it would catch on the latch inside the glove box. Got the hook replaced under warranty, and it has worked fine ever since. The spring was broken inside the hook part of the latch that resets the hook...

    Stick with Mobil 1?

I bring the Mobil 1 to the dealership, 18.00 each for two 5 qt containers from Wal Mart, they put the oil in and install a Mopar filter, total cost, dealer about $22.00, Wall Mart, $36.00, so for about $50.00, it's done right, and there is an official record of it on Chrylser's computer system...

Offers from dealers on the 2003 SRT/10

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I am getting offers from Dodge dealers about purchasing a new 2003 Viper SRT/10. At least 3 different dealers have sent cards and letters to me! Man I only wish I could afford one! I thought these offers only went to original Viper owners, but hey...

OK already! Robert, you talked me into it, we are going to Kona! The snow started here on Christmas Eve, and went on for 7 days in a row! Today we have grey skies, 34 degrees, and lots more of the same for at least two more months! We'll break it up somewhere along the way with a trip to...

Engine Work Out of Warranty - Leaking Head, Recommendations

When I had mine checked for oil leaks, the Tech was only going to replace the head gaskets. However, he tried to get them from Mother Mopar, and guess what, they were back ordered and not even available at that time. Mopar head gaskets for the Gen I engines seem to be very hard to find...
