I got a ’96 RT about a month ago and have twice lightly “grinded” what I think was reverse.
(I also have a 2000 GTS I bough new, so it is possible it was boneheaded shifting with the clutch engagement being so different from the other)
Tonight, I had the console out to put a short throw...
I too would disagree about the "creampuffs" not being as strong as the earlier cars. The lumpy idle does not make more power.
Not only was the quickest 1/4 ET realized in a 2000...but at one time the 2000 and later Gen IIs were penalized in the Viper Days series. They run just fine, thanks...
HyperViper...I thought that was possible too. The resin was to a point where it was about 10PPM in TDS. The maker says you're good until you get to 20PPM...then spots appear.
I'm hesitant to swap resin (have the cartridges made up already) as the spots it left need to be buffed out...not just...
I too have a spotless system and have used it for many years.
However, I recently washed two cars...one black and one gold....and when they had dried they had water "ringlets" all over where the water had dried. Both were in the shade.
I took a sample of the DI water, as well as samples...
I recently switched my collector cars to Grundy. I did some internet searching and found about Eugene Scott at Alternate Insurance Solutions. A serious car guy who searched all his available companies to get me the best rate.
I am more than pleased with his services and highly recommend Eugene.
Finally got a pick...not a great one...but shows my (new to me ) 96RT. (The GTS is in the house garage.) It's on the 4 post, and you can see there's as much room in front as the back.
The garage is 26' deep.
The Excursion usually parks on that lift and that's a whole other story! It's hard...
ViperJon...My Viper is usually in the house garage...so I can take some pics and post 'em.
v10enomous...Stoltzfus were great to work with and I'd recommend them without hesitation.
It may be a good ride for either of you guys...but you are welcome to come see mine if it would help.
There...
We finished a detached garage project almost 2 years ago and I learned a bunch.
Mine is 32wx26d with 9' ceilings over two bays....and open to almost the ceiling in one bay. The reasoning? I wanted a 4 post in the one bay, but wanted upstairs storage in the other.
Our area too had a height...
Good luck....do I see in the pics that this trailer has no brakes?
Plus...if I see it correctly...and I might not...it looks like the trailer fenders are where the car doors will be...gonna climb out the window?
I've been around collectible Mopars for well over 20 years. Modifications that are easily reversed...like wheels or exhaust....are no big deal. Modifications like spoilers, color change, custom interior, etc...do impact value. Most folks want the car stock and it's tougher to find a buyer that...
I too am biased, the Steel Gray GTs pictured above is mine. Bought it new in 2000. I had a blue GTS before this one. I get lots of compliments on this car. I also have noticed that in certain light it takes on a "goldish" hue as well.
Talk about digging up an old thread....I don;t even know if the OP is still around.
I was doing a search looking for info on early Vipers...and tried a VIN search on two of my former Vipers. The Viper in this thread...I bought new.
I have all kinds of documentation for this car. Again, I...
I've been showing cars at the national level for 20 years, and I'd agree that it stinks to see a brand new car take home a trophy when a restored car doesn't. Of course, I remember taking my then new 2000 GTS to shows and simply not having it judged. Now, at 10 years old...I'm not sure what age...
Jim, hopefully the arrangement works out here on the board...but if not.
Peteresen Manufacturing makes the clearance lights. When I replaced the lights on my enclosed trailer, I bought them at Wal-Mart for something like $2.22 each. I was glad to have found them...then thought, "wow these look...
As a many, many year veteran of car shows....it all depends on the show, the type of judging, etc.
At a "popular vote" show the car that's best detailed, most correctly restored, etc...will not always come out on top. Folks vote for their friends, etc. I don;t even go to popular vote shows any...
Before I got my 2000GTS, I had both a '96 GTS and '94 RT....when I decided to have just one...a GTS was the obvious winner for me.
That said...of all the cars I have owned, I miss that '94 and have vowed to one day get another...but the GTS has to stay as well.
Of course, I prefer a sidepipe...
Mustangs are hugely popular to many folks. To call them "under-achievers" is elitist. While I have had three Vipers….currently I still have my 2000GTS…I drive a 2003 Cobra everyday and it’s a great car. To say people are stupid for liking or wanting something other than a Viper is nutty. Not...
One of the CA Regions used to sell a carpeted trunk mat for the RT/10. It went from side to side, and really made a nice difference.
You may also find a local upholstery shop or auto parts store (maybe on-line) that sells Llyods mats. Lloyd Mats They custom make all sorts of mats.
Sweet '70 'runner indeed. I had a 440-6 B5 Superbird years ago...still a sucker for that color.
Pic from Carlisle is cool too. I entered my '72 this year in the SME. Scored 97.5 out of 100. Missed being the highest scoring car by .25 point. (When I got my sheet, I found they deducted for...
Hey guys...I'm the guy that put this on eBay. (thanks for the post, Frank)
Please allow me to clarify...
First of all..I used to use regular door edge guard material as some mentioned. These were about 20" long, and were very stiff. It was difficult to fit as they are a stiffer type of...
