Lookin,
I installed a Corsa/high flow cat system on my 97. A Sawzall easily cuts thru the stock exaust. I tried a clamp but ended up getting it welded (40$). As far as sound, you have to hear them. Corsa has sound clips on their site and I believe there is a Borla clip in the multimedia section...
K-40 seems to consistantly score the lowest on the tests I have seen. I think the dealers make a lot of money on them. I seem to see them usually as dealer installed options.
I take my 2 1/2 year old daughter out all the time in my 97. I just pull the two airbag fuses. This deactivates both airbags. If you are worried about yourself you can always get a set of 5 points which should work better than the airbag.
I think the lower temp gives a whiter light while the higher temp gives that bluish BMW color light that looks more like the blue tinted halogen bulbs all the sport compacts have.
Hey Johnathan,
Good luck in Arizona this weekend. The Stoptechs are working great. Big improvement. I find myself braking much harder on the street without the same fear of locking up. I did the Stoptech fronts with Ultimate pads first with great improvement. I then put on rear slotted rotors...
Re: Standard Konis are adjustable, I\'ve done it, its good
It took me about 1.5 hours per corner once I figured it out. The remove/replace is the easier part. It takes a little fiddling around to get the springs compressed. You could always have the tech do the adjustment and do the R/R yourself.
It is the lack of resistance as Joe says. The Mopar blue wires (I have them) have much less resistance than the stock wires (and probably a lot less than the Magnacores) which results in a cracking sound at rpms less than 2000. I only notice it when idling but it is a bit annoying at times...
Wow. Terrible story. Glad it is over with.I have always had excellent service from my local Dodge dealer. Interesting about Honda, I had always heard they, in general, had terrible customer service. Always seem to rank very low...
Re: Standard Konis are adjustable, I\'ve done it, its good
Another thanks Joel for the great research. I did this last week. Mine were set at 1/4 turn. Went with your suggested 1 1/4. It has made a HUGE difference. The ride is a bit harsher but not bad at all. Really seems to hug the road now...
Did you switch wings? Your avitar shows an Autoform style while the EBay ad shows a GT-2 style. How did you like the Autoform wing?
Beautiful car. My second favorite color combination!
The only bikes I have raced, both from a stop, were a Harley (newer model) and an 1100 BMW. Neither were even close. I suppose a run against a 1000 rice bike would be a lot different.....
I recently used the Motive unit to bleed the brakes after I installed a StopTech front kit and rear SS lines (also used it to diagnose an exhaust leak but that's a different story :) ). Worked great. Let me know if you have any questions on it. If you are like me, you will need at least 2 pints...
I have found the G-tech to correspond well with dragstrip times when done on the same track. It is easy to run in the low 13's in a Viper without practice, missing a shift or with poor traction. The mph is a little concerning as my 97 GTS runs 123-125 mph on the G-Tech (177-118 mph at strip)...
Re: Alignment with 19
If the 19" wheels/tires decrease the fender gap they must also raise the ride height by the same amount. The advantage is if you raise the ride height with the 19"s then you can lower it back to stock and have decreased fender gap with normal ride height. If the 19"...
