Speedo strangeness....
I have been seeing some strangeness from my speedo lately - at freeway speeds, the speedo is jumping up and down 10-15MPH, with no change in pedal modulation (or tach). Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks,- XS TORQ

Ultra Low Clearance Floor Jack - Oh Baby!
I saw the "boys from AZ" at Viperdays (Thunderhill) using the DK13HLQ on a lowered (full race) GTS w/ sidepipes and splitters. It went under the car w/ a *little* room to spare. Re: who\'s the best Viper dealer in SF Bay? Valaya Racing is great, no doubt. All good guys, and very good with maintanence as well as modifications. If you need warranty work done, give Stevens Creek Dodge a shot. Ben is a good Viper tech, and make sure you use Dave as Service Advisor.- XS TORQ

Problem arranging courtesy drop of new Viper
On the dealer prep - I would suggest (and I'm sure many will agree) that you should NOT allow them to wash/detail the car. 99% of the time, you will have a ton of fine scratches/swirl marks that you will work endless hours removing. Pay the fee for the drop-ship, and clean the car yourself. My $.02- XS TORQ

1 step closer to owning!! WOOHOO! Next week!
Stock tires (Michelin XGTZ's) were bad at "following ruts" (actually good at it - too good!) They are also poor performers in the rain. They are very sticky on dry roads, and great for dry track racing. If the car has GTS wheels, it probably doesn't have XGTZ's. Sounds like a great car at a...- XS TORQ

RT/10 Trunk Lid Gas Shock - Viperware
I have always been totally happy w/ the strut. The trunk needs to be up 100% for it to hold (at least mine does). Things did change *somewhat* recently when I added a Mopar spoiler. I probably need to change the mount point a little bit, as the strut barely holds the decklid up now. The spoiler...- XS TORQ

Short shifter..which one?
Had the B&M and recently broke it. It's being replaced under warranty by Summit Racing - I bought it from them about 3 years ago. From what I hear, the older ones were more prone to breaking. Hopefully this is not true of the newer ones. I always liked the B&M Ripper (w/ MGW knob), and it seems...- XS TORQ

RT/10 Trunk Lid Gas Shock - Viperware
I put one on mine about 4 years ago. Drilling the 1st hole is tough (mentally). No big deal to install - comes complete w/ templates. Definitely worth having. Furious......... Curb Rash!!!
Bigs, I did the "sandpaper" trick on mine after hearing about a number of people that tried getting their wheels refinished, and most not being happy. The clear on the wheels is powdercoat, and none of the wheel places I talked to would do that for a "reasonable" cost. Anyway, I am very pleased...- XS TORQ

Broke my B&M shifter - need info
All, That was my first shifter break, and it took me 4 years - Definitely not the gorilla that Mike Brunton is I called Summit last night, and they said send it back, and if there are no signs of abuse, they'll replace it. Stop scratch front spoiler.
If I came off a curb perpendicular, I would get high centered. Angles don't do it for a lowered car, and some curbs/driveways won't allow any Viper to keep the facia off the pavement.- XS TORQ

Like SoCal, I have given up on keeping scratches off the fascia of my car - especially since mine is lowered an inch. Occasionally, I will put black wax under the fascia (Color Back from Turtle Wax, I believe -- another JonB suggestion). Covers nicely, and looks good. I quit stressing on that...- XS TORQ

My RT/10 is finally home!
Making it sound (and breathe) better on a budget is easy - get K&N filters and smooth tubes, and replace the mufflers. ZAINO QUESTON
ZFX is a liquid that comes in a small "eye dropper" type container. You add a few drops (3 or 4 drops per oz of polish) into a seperate container (small shampoo style bottles is what I use). You shake it up and you have about 12 hours to use it.- XS TORQ

Personal opinion... Buy Z2, Z5, Z6, and ZFX (hardener/accellerator). No need for Z1 anymore, assuming you use the ZFX. You will save yourself a TON of time. Like 10's of hours. Don, "Free" is relative - keeping me in food and cocktails is probably more expensive than hiring a pro to do the work for you! My friends all know that I will polish any clean car for free. It's a lot harder to get the car *really* clean than it is to Zaino it!- XS TORQ
