    % of Vipers modified

First of all, I don't think Soon2BSmokedbyaViper was trying to start anything, he was just asking a legit. question. (Not that it would necessarily be bad if he was trying to start something - the Board has been kinda dead since Bangate). But to answer his question, I would guess that the...

BOBBY ARCHER WINS CHARITY LEGENDS RACE AT TMS

Wonder if old Bobaroo would have hid in the staging area again if Mumdodge would have showed up in his legends rig. Oh yeah, Mumsmack's legends car would have an extra 150 hp packed in the MGW shift knob, so I guess Archer would be justified in crying foul. WAR CHEATERS!

HELP ! Buying a Viper - Too Good To Be True ?

Although you still have the factory warranty in effect and you are purchasing from a Dodge dealer, I'd still think twice about the purchase. A lot of Viper owners seem to be pretty fanatical about the car, so there tend to be a lot of great cars with low miles that have been over-detailed their...

    PLEASE, save this site.

I understand your Swiss-bred aversion to conflict, but I think you should stick with your instincts and remain neutral on this topic - truly worthless or offensive posts will be self-regulated by the thrashing such posts receive from other members, if not the moderators. In the alternative, I...

Please put me out of my misery concerning headers! Help!

Couple points that guys who drop the car off to have headers put on may not know. The Viper frames aren't exactly identical from car to car, and most headers aren't either. Thus, to avoid the headers slapping against the frame when the engine torques under power (or to just get the header to...

    best filter and tubes?

I got my tubes and K&N's from PartsRack (back when Vargus was taking orders ), and I've been totally satisfied with the quality, etc. However, I think the K&N's are a little thicker than the stock filters, so to prevent your airbox clips from popping off at an inopportune time, you might want...

    Padlocks and Russia....

NOTE 1: I think Mike's point is very simple and entirely valid - why not just post a one line note explaing WHY threads are locked. You can even use shorthand, like "pissing off sponsor - will lose money" or "smack has gone over the line" or "IEAT has become abusive." A concise note would...

    Quick Question

I think the guy who rolls up the Roach Coach outside my work with the "La Cocaracha" horn every lunch hour might sell those as well. He's currently running a special package deal on the "gills" shown, fuzzy dice, neon sill trim and 24k Dayton rims. I think I have his beeper number if you are...

New Owner with two questions ?

I'd do the filter/tube swap ASAP - don't worry the hissing sound is normal. As far as the exhaust, you have to just listen to the installed systems to get a feel for what YOU like. I've heard systems that supposedly were great (or great on other car makes) that didn't sound so hot to me on the...

    Positive tuner experiences

Maurice with the NoCal VCA was very helpful and responsive with my floor mat order (got them to me before the holidays!), also, I'm completely satisfied with the product. MGW was also very responsive with the shift knob I ordered and I would recommend MGW's aftermarket shifters as a nice...

    WARNING..WHEELS SALE

Gee, don't suppose a scam artist would ever check the Viper BBS for leads. Why don't you make this thread disappear until the issue is resolved, lest the wrong parties be tipped off.

    fuel quality

I have noticed that Chevron and Union 76 92 octane gas is better than most, albeit on higher compression engines. I think they also have the added benefit of adding injector cleaners or detergents of some sort to their gas. I wouldn't know how other gas fares in the Viper because I usually use...

Just have to brag a LITTLE :) Ran 11.76 in virtually stock Viper

I think Mike's mods are about as close to stock as anyone outside of a trailer queen nut would want to go. If filters and tubes are such a problem for the "stock" classification, I guess Mike can just claim to have a '98 ACR. Any way you cut it, it takes a lot of skill to turn those numbers...

    Question for Supercharging Gurus

Doug - thanks for the explanation. If that was the "old" setup, I'd love to see the new one! Ulysses - Yep, that was the Levin Viper Marv - Too bad I didn't know you'd be there, I could have finally put the face with the name!

    Question for Supercharging Gurus

I had a chance to check out a Gen I Viper at a club meet this weekend - the car had a supercharger from a well-known builder, as well as nitrous. One of the guys there made a comment that got me wondering - he said "That supercharger setup will only charge the first 2 cylinders. There's no way...

    Viper vs. Corvette drag races!

O.k., SloCal, this might finally be our showdown that has secretly left you shaking in your boots. I think I've even convinced Mumdodge to make a few straight line runs, but you never know. Also, if Brett can get a car that is actually made in America, he might be able to be dragged out...

    Question for Supercharging Gurus

Thanks for explanations - my prior experience is solely with Weiand type blowers on old Chevys - I guess it's a little easier to imagine the charge getting an even dispersal when it's coming into the manifold from the top. Gerald - is the black gen I RT/10 really your old car? If so, that's a...

GOT PACED AT 20+ OVER (long)

My many experiences with John Q. Law have taught me the following: 1) Big City cops are usually cooler about traffic stuff than small town guys (I guess the LAPD and SJPD actually have crime related things to worry about). 2) Know your 4th Amendment rights - your ability to NOT give consent to...

    How expensive is Viper Maintenance?

Wow, hey Ron, next time you are in California, give me a call - I've got a Chevelle with an annoying backfire problem (I think it's my Edelbrock Fuel Injection mapping) but I'd sure like you to take a look at it. Actually, if you've got time, the light on my VCR keeps blinking too...
