Go with the 3". I have used the reducer on RT high flows with no problems. Then, when I did headers, I just removed the reducers. Just make sure you use antiseize to get them apart later.
I'm following your lead on welding the turnout to the cat. My cats are RT high flows, and the rest of the exhaust is RT. The headers are the last bit, so I just removed the reducer to get the stock header to fit the RT cat. I've got the cat and resonator off, so I'm just trying to figure out...
Excellent! Thanks Tony. I thought that maybe the "originals" were only for the Jet-Hot coating. There were no washers etc.
OK, last question. What is the best way to make sure the entire exhaust system fits together when you are welding the turnout to the cat? Did you assemble it and...
Thanks Dave. That was my backup plan. Have you tried to separate the two assembled halves yet? Tight as heck, and takes two wrenches. Oh yeah, and don't ding up the finish.:)
Looking for some help. Doing my install, and have a few new questions.
The headers come with the top and bottom halves assembled. I believe I should remove the bottom, and then reinstall after mounting the tops to the engine. What torque should I use to reattach the top to the bottom? There...
Oh, I see now. You are a Roe distributor who can't replace a simple header without destroying the rest of the engine. And since you apparently have this problem, you assume the rest of us are stupid and lack integrity, since of course, we would blame Lou if we did. Makes perfect sense. How...
You need to completely clean up your rotors. 3M Roloc kit will do this. And use some Disc Brake Quiet or similar product as well. PM me if you want any more detail.
He was asked to compare driving an Indy car to a NASCAR. He said driving an Indy car was like a VIPER. The NASCAR was like a Dodge Ram truck. He mentioned the Viper at least three times talking about its cornering ability, power, and responsiveness. :D
1. Engine Management. You will be amazed at how a "tune" for a given set of mods / fuel can increase HP.
2. Hard to beat nitrous. I agree with ViperTony on bang for buck.
3. Think long term. You've got the mod bug, just like most of us. You will save $$$ long term if you just accept it, and...
The instructions are for Dodge Viper V-10 Headers: 92 - 02, so it appears to be Gen II. Hmm. I think I'll just leave them in. Thanks everyone for your input.
I've got the old headers off, and I too don't see why one would need to remove the plugs. Unless worried about bumping and damaging them.
Is it normal process when removing plugs to replace them in the same cylinder "to prevent misfire"? I'm just curious as I've never heard that before, and...
"Spark plugs must be removed and later reinstalled in the same cylinder or misfire may occur." From Belanger Installation Instructions.
Anyone know the basis for such an assertion?
I just finished the Woodhouse mounts on my 01 GTS. I used ViperTony's method, but had problems with the one bolt, then lower part. I could not get the 2nd bolt in on top. I then re-raised the engine a little, and put in both bracket bolts. Then I lowered it and it went right down. The...
My stock 01 squealed like a stuck pig. EBC greens with Disc Brake Quiet and a real thorough clean up of the rotors with 3M Roloc solved the problem. I just bought some EBC reds, so we'll see if they are quiet.
