    Vinyl decals

96McViper, if you send a text to 317-402-9013, I will take a photo tomorrow of our 1996 "McViper" with a ruler along side the Sneaky Pete. By the way, beware of the Sneaky Pete found on the 1997 GTS "McViper" as it is smaller.

    Tom's 40mm rear caliper upgrade

As I recall, Tom's original 40mm kits used a sleeve on the 36mm piston to bring it up to 40mm. For those interested, Tom had full explanations of both form and function of his modification on this site...along with some stopping data comparisons. Search "40mm" posts by " Tom F&L, GoR".

Gen 2 vs. Gen 5 GTS

I will only add that YOU can maintain your own Viper...very easy to do on a Gen II, and not bad on a Gen V once you remove a more extensive belly pan.

    R29 recall

My guess is that it was an early build that had the original breather hose set up that needed to be rerouted. Here is a listing of R 29 parts that I looked up a couple of years ago when the kits were on backorder: "Aside from the oil and SRToil filter, here are the components...

    R29 recall

Sammy, welcome to the world of Vipers !! You have raised the question on recalls...especially for 2013 and 20q4 model years. I suspect that many could write a book here...but is not going to be me today. If you have a Viper VIN to question, go here...

    IOD Parasitic Draw

Mikyver13, as Dave said, service manuals for your year are the place to start...and, they are generally available on ebay. Get the printed version as they are much easier to use. Two rules I make myself adhere to when doing the IOD test on a Viper: lower the windows before you start and begin...

Battery source for 2016 ACR Extreme

That will work just fine...and you can still use your "cross" bracket. My local interstate store is great. They know I will want to see date of manufacture, resting voltage, cold crank, and load test. For tests to be accurate, battery cannot be on a charger for the 30 minutes preceeding the...

Battery source for 2016 ACR Extreme

Battery group size for Gen V ACR and ACR-X was V4. Last time I checked, you could get one at MB dealership. Not sure of this, but MB may use these as starter battery only noting there is also a bigger battery in car to run everything else. T5 came in GTS, SRT, T/A, and GT...and will fit into...

Priming Motor that sat for 6 months. Did I screw up?

You may get dozens of answers here...some factual, some fanciful, and everything in between. Today's quality full synthetic oils offer a lot of protection by cling to metal parts for a long time. Since I live in a place where winter Viper driving is not a good idea, our Vipers routinely sit...

New gen ii ACR owner - shifter stiff?

Starting in 1999, Dodge started using Synthetic Manual Transmission Lubricant 75W-85 (made be Castrol) as the "factory fill". It was used through 2006. This fluid is "stiff" when cold. This was a change from the Dexron II-e and Dexron III used in prior years. The change was undertaken to...

    1994 Gen 1 Reverse Lockout

Yes, you should have a reverse lockout. Therefore, your problem could be a fuse, plug, wire, or the solenoid itself. Interestingly, I did not see it listed under the various fuses in the 1994 service manual. In the 1995 manual, it appears to share fuse #9 with the blower motor. Hopefully...

    Hydraulic clutch

Jim, noting the many different ways to approach this issue (that most us have used at some point), I would say that it is easy to maintain a well cared for system, but it can be more difficult to rescue a neglected system. Hopefully, yours will be straightforward.
