So weather has not cooperated with me for almost two months, but finally got the car out again, and YES there is a "low tire" message pops up for a split second every time it dings! If you hear the tone and look down, it will already be gone, so starring at it it does keep flashing up every...
I keep hearing an alert tone/ding from the dash instrument panel while going through 1st gear just normal driving. I know there is a skip shift indicator, but this does it on just very little normal take off, nothing hard accelerating, do not see any light coming on. Can't seem to figure out...
Anyone with the Paxton/Novi supercharger setup with a stock Gen3 motor in here? Will only be running 4-5psi, does the fuel pump need to be upgraded if running larger injectors and a new tune for them and the SC ?
I have this setup on my 2005 SRT10 Truck and the stock fuel pump was ok to run...
Found the issue today, finally had time to look further. Took the cover off that wraps around the column, just 2 screws from the front underside, and it snaps apart at the back..
The wiring harness plug was pulled out....after looking closer, the lock on the harness plug is not working properly...
Tested motor today, it works fine, high speed , low speed, and park....must be the stem contacts or a harness on the column unplugged. Will start taking the stem apart if I can without totally dissembling the steering column, and not planning to try to remove the steering wheel or airbags...
Haven't had time to test the motor, but that was my next thing to look at was taking apart what I could on the steering column to see where that gets me. It was an AZ car, so chances are they were never used for 15 years. I do not necessarily need them either, just bugs me they do not work...
This is on a '05 Viper, nothing on the right hand side stem is working, no wipers, no fluid will spray on windshield when level is pulled back.
I tested the fluid pump, it works fine as the wiring was easy to get to.
I have the wiper motor harness pulled out, its the 5 wire and I just located...
Anyone know where to get this part or the part number for it on a 2005 Viper? This is right in front of the front tire, passenger side. Looks like same one is on driver side also, but I have one missing.
I've been trying to locate another emblem exactly like the one in the attachment, the original packaging from 6/1992 shows p/n 05245478.
It is flat. I went to local dealer and was told that p/n was superceded by JW27M1R, but that emblem is slightly curved so it is not the same one.

Excellent info Chris! Why is it the protocol they use on these is so slow, or better yet why did Chrysler even use such a protocol? I've scanned a large variety of newer vehicles with a variety of laptop software through the ALDL and get around 18 frames a second refresh on them. Back in the...
Thanks for the info Dan and Magnus. Very good info to know about the SAE scanners too if someone was to pay that kind of $$ for one. Be kind of bordline if the update rate would be a huge factor for the knock/retard since most PCMs will apply that spark retard rate for a few seconds before it...
Ok, I found a list of pre-2008 vehicles which have the CAN bus, none of the Viper powered vehicles do..so...
I was hoping to find a scanner for the individual enthuiast for a few hundred bucks like I have for my other vehicles rather than a $4k+ shop scanner..but I guess that is cheaper than...
What does all this mean Steve.. non-CAN, DRB III?
Autotap responded to my question saying that neither of their products can display spark/knock for my vehicle :(
I thought the Gen3 engines were from 2003-2006 and 4th was 2008-2010 ??
The truck does have a knock sensor under the intake, the 2005 models do at least so I assume they utilize the same PCM as the cars, just different tuning for a 5600lb truck.
Even the tuners I've inquired to either just...
Thanks, I have sent Autotap a message to see if either of their products capture the spark knock/retard for my year vehicle.
Does the version you are using capture that specific data stream?
If so is it the AutoTap or AutoTap DIY Express?
The MSD standalone unit requires a bore and tap of...
Hi, I have an '05 SRT10 truck with the Gen3 motor and is supercharged. I have been looking for any type of scan tool that will monitor the ignition spark knock/retard but can't seem to find anything that will do that which the truck owners have.
So I've come here to see if any of you use a...
