    Rear Tire option?

+1 for Continental Extreme Contact Sport 2's ..have 'em on the Porsche and they're fantastic in all conditions. These Conti's are going on the Viper next. Have been running the Nitto Invo's and they've been great for a smooth street ride with plenty of grip off the line and no tram-lining...

    New Viper Owner

I've driven my Conti's on mountain roads in all manner of weather conditions on the same day (changing elevations going up and down the mountain)..and they just never let loose or broke free. The only time they got a little greasy was after running full tilt on hot canyon roads (keeping up with...

    Clutch issues during longer drives

Yea get the highest boiling point rating you can find. :2tu: Something like Motul RBF 700 (or at least the RBF 600). Congrats on your new Viper and welcome to Viper ownership!

    New Viper Owner

Have Nitto Invo's too. I know... not a fav in the Viper community. Only have 8,321 miles on 'em but they've "timed out". They've been a great tire for the street. Plenty of grip off the line and very good in the mountains and canyons (..early in a turn expect a little tread wiggle, then they...

Looking for a Viper tech in LA area 91367

Good luck @thebeast. I think you're on your own. I've tried Dan Cragin and A&C Performance with FAR LESS than optimal results and would never go back to either one of 'em. At this stage, best bet is to find a local rest-o-mod shop or start wrenching on your own.

    Texas Emissions test

My Viper came from Houston and the previous owner (AlexK aka SneakySnakes) got it to pass Texas Smog Test even with the Belanger exhaust. So it can be done. Try reaching out to him on Instagram or YouTube (not sure if he's still on UTube).

    Fun With Personalized Plates

No not at all! No TDS here (TDS => Trump Derangement Syndrome). I don't hate Trump. And that was an cardboard overlay on the plate. Not an actual plate. I think applying the "Orange Man Bad" moniker to a bright Orange Viper completely defuses any political connotations or pretense from...

    Gen 4 KW shock???

I have the KW's too (on my GenIV) n' a while back I was considering having them refurbished (just cuz of their age). Called KW and they said to ship 'em over and they'd do a full rebuild for a reasonable price. I don't recall how much $$, but it wasn't bad.

    Texas Emissions test

ALABAMA. No smog test required AT ALL. You can get a smog test if you like, but you don't have to do anything about it if it fails. Love it!! I recently visited Huntsville and toured the northern parts of the state. The roads were beautiful, very flat and meticulously maintained. Even the...

    Fun With Personalized Plates

ORMNBAD => Orange Man Bad No worries, I don't think too many people at the Good Guys car show got it either.

    Fun With Personalized Plates

Testing out a new personalized plate. Friends and neighbors thought it was hysterical so I took it to the Good-Guys car show yesterday and I'd say the test results were less than optimal. I couldn't tell if the general public understood the abbreviated phrase or if they got it at all or...

    Personalized plates

Generally here in California you can get yellow characters on a black plate OR blue characters on a white plate (standard). For historical vehicles can get black characters on a yellow plate. Plus a slew of other themed plates (like whales etc..) For my test plates I painted the cardboard...

What did you do to your Viper today?

Took her out hunting for orange paint for the intake trim on the Porsche. Seemed appropriate. Cruising the streets with MASSIVE Viper power always feels sooo good, so smooth. Orange on Black! Gotta keep up with the Viper.

    Car Nickname

For the first 5 years, she was "The Orange Lure". Great Super Hero name. Color is Very Viper Orange..which is hard to miss on a sunny day. The cops would notice and follow waiting for me to do something stupid. Invariably, an unworthy opponent gearhead would show up and do stupid stuff and get...

Cleaning my Sidewinder hyper black rims

Resurrecting this 7 year old thread! Any excuse to post pics of my Black Onyx Chrome PVD coated SidewinderII wheels. As for cleaning 'em, I just use the same car shampoo used in the wash and a wheel brush, then wipe 'em down with a microfiber towel and maybe a little P&S Beadmaker Detail Spray...

    Suspension bushings

If you do want to tackle this yourself, you can probably borrow (for free) a bushing press kit from your local auto parts store. Plenty of How-To vids on UTube. Certainly not as nice and zippy as a hydraulic press but it'll get the job done.

Gen 3 Passenger Side Window Regulator

Hey guys, any update on the PowerWindinowRepair place in Arizona? Gotta deal with this myself. Both Windows!! Passenger window sounds like the usual failure of the tubing over the spring cable line (noise on rise). But can lower and raise 1/2 way without any issues. Driver window is...

    Paint correction

ooo, tough call. Feel your pain.:ooo: Considering the ceramic coating was there, wet sanding would be my last resort. I'd try to polish it out as much as possible with a cutting polish and pad in as tight an area as needed. Based on those results would check into something like Dr. ColorChip...

Thanks. Looks to me like we have access to the legacy forum area.. can login, search and stuff. Not sure if we can post, haven't tried. Looks like we're completely locked out of the new forum area, unless we pay. A little curious to know how busy the new forum has become, but not horribly...

    My Detailing Maintenance Routine

So after a full detail yesterday/overnight as described above, got some pics in a bit of sunshine (some high clouds floating about, but easily visible in the reflection off the high gloss finish). So first just a fav angle of mine showing the crazy shine and reflection off the door etc.. Also...
