What can people recommend for upgraded pads on a 2003.

Both front & rears, vendor details and prices would be great, who has best prices on stock pads too, part # 05093307AA

What about rotors while we're at it?

What is your intended use? There will be different recommendations if you are looking for a track pad as opposed to a low dust pad for the street.

The brake package on your SRT-10 is identical to that on the Competition Coupe except for the pads. The Competition Coupe uses a Mintex race pad that can be purchased from Tom Francis at Viper Headquarters/Evernham Motorsports. The pads are awesome and will last as many as 4 or 5 race weekends on a typical track.

The overall brake package is so awesome from a performance standpoint, I wouldn't change a thing. It has set a new standard for shortest braking distance from 60-0 MPH of any car tested.

However, if you want a lighweight rotor, Tom Francis can also sell you the rotors that are used on the SCCA World Challenge Competition Coupes. You may want to consider that your stock rotor sells for $75 each and will last an entire race season in the front and probably 1-1/2 to 2 race seasons in the rear. The lightweight rotor sells for $600 each and may last only 2 race weekends!

Of course, pads and rotors used on the street will show different results, and I wouldn't recommend you use either a race pad or a race rotor on the street.

Why would you want to change what you have? There isn't a better brake package on a production car anywhere in the world that I know of.

Frank how about brake fluid? Need something better than what comes from the factory? Running the srt on road courses will there be a need for cooling ducts? Has anyone boiled the fluid in a srt yet or will we?

I'm not sure what #5093307AA is?

2003 & 04 SRT Brake Pad Kit [front & rear are the same]

Guys,

Thanks for the heads up, the reason i ask is that the pads are the same as a 2001 Diablo 6.0 i come to find out, & believe me, they are a LOT cheaper than Lamborghini wants, Lambo wants $980.00 for a set of rear pads, dodge wants $156.00, same pads too are the emergency pads, rotors are the same as well on the fronts 355mm - 32.00 just need to know though if the rotors are drilled or slotted? anyone confirm for me?

Lastly, anyone got the caliper #, this is off of the Lambo caliper

I did order the emergency pads, VIPER PART # 05093291AA $60.87 per set, $279.00 from Lambo IDENTICAL part

Front & rear pads (DODGE PART # 05093307AA) $156.20 Italian Description KIT PAST.POST.107-4865-50
Lamborghini's Suggested Retail Price $1,022.49

very slight difference in that Lambo pads have a groove mcahined for a sensor, very easy to install, and to save $1600.00 + for a set, you betch your lfe i can put a grove in it!

Just thought some might find this interesting.

The Mintex race pads on the Competition Coupe are $205 per axle set. That means $410 total for all 4 wheels. The same pad is used on both front and rear. Don't confuse these pads with the others quoted above.

Use Motul brake fluid for the track. It works fine on the street as well.

The rotors and brake pads come right out of the Comp Coupe spare parts manual which is published on this web site in the CC owners' section. I assume Viper Headquarters will sell them to non-CC owners, but I'm not sure. Could be a liability issue (race car use versus street car use.)

The Viper continues to use a 6-lug bolt pattern from the Dakota truck. I don't know for sure, but I would suppose that Lambo uses a 5-lug wheel/hub like everyone else in the entire world. :rolleyes:

And yet, they also continue to use a spoke design that is divisible by 5 for a blantant mismatching / unbalancing affect, as the holes can't be located at or between the spokes. Grrr.......

If the 6 lug design is gospel, then PLEASE make the wheels a /6 type design... Thanks.

I believe there are very good reasons why 6 spoke wheels are not available. Having a quantity of spokes that is not prime (number not divisible by any other number except 1) and evenly spaced can produce poor harmonics. A spoke pattern divisible by 2 would be the worst possible application so a 6 spoke would be the pits.

Would look nice though ... standing still.
