I guess im that lucky soul. I have a deposit down on the car. I asked the salesman and he said the owner took it out a few times and after that it sat. they are just trying to move it yesterday.

Congrats on your purchase.
This is a smokin deal!
By the time I saw the add on Autotrader and called, they said they had a deposit on it.
Enjoy your new snake.

Good deal, all you people that want a Gen.5s,(Dr.RW) just wait a while longer, the deals are coming like this. The greedy dealers who thought they were going to get rich with free money are now in trouble when they have all these over priced 120,000.00 plus cars sitting around that very few are buying/can,t sell.

Enjoy your new ride and remember, always make sure you have it pointed straight with a lot of road before you nail it...

Great deal!!! In joy your car. Best deal I could find was a GTS for $120. Passed on the deal and purchased my C7 instead. And still get to keep my Mamba.

You passed on a 120K Viper GTS deal only to buy a 60K Corvette. Congrats to you also, I guess.

$72k Z51 3LT and I still keep my Viper. Stock 460 HP I now have my tune and headers and that should get me 40-50 RWHP as a start. As you already know you can't tune the G5 Viper. Just wait until the Z06 comes out in January. $34k off should be the norm by then.

From the vehicles in Mamba's sig, I don't think the price was the real factor.

Mamba, not to derail the thread but as a former Cummins truck guy myself, how is the Cayenne Diesel?

Yep price was not a factor. Forgot to list the boats in my sig The Diesel is great, getting around 33 MPG. But it's my wife's ride and she loves it.

That's one advantage of Chevy and Ford stuff- an awesome aftermarket. C7's will be easy to tweak. My 2013 Camaro has tons of mods. Engine, suspension, and it's getting a carbon fiber wing and splitter. All specifically designed and tuned for the Camaro, and readily available.

Thanks everyone... My first Viper is almost a reality. I've been dreaming to get one ever since I had the 96 b/w poster on my wall. I'll Let everyone know how the experience goes. Not looking forward driving from Ohio to NJ in this weather!

Not to sound like too much of a ***** and I know the gen V has traction control, but it still has 600+ ft pounds of torque with summer tires. Be very-very-very-very careful driving a Viper in below 40 degree temps and use a feather foot on the throttle.

The boards are filled with cold weather single car accident stories of pre-Gen 5 Vipers. Good luck with your purchase!!

On my way home now. Took delivery a few hours ago. Such a smooth transaction. No games and straight to the point. The staff was extremely professional and nice.

Ps. The gen V is amazing.
