I am looking into getting an RB1 unit to replace the RBQ unit in my 2003. Looks like it will fit in just fine and hook up but my only question would be is the navigation antenna necessary to hook up? the latest nav dvd is from 2012 from what i can find online so it doesnt matter much anyways. i just cant find any information on if it is needed and where to actually get this antenna from? any help is appreciated!

I got one with my radio and just stuck it under the dash above the center console vents. Seems to work okay there. I don't think it's strictly necessary, especially if you don't even plan to use the software. The harder part nowadays is finding a good disc that the radio will even read. The vast majority of ones out there for sale are all copies that are pretty hit and miss with working. I bought one just to try it out because it's novel to have a map available, but it has more and more trouble loading and reading.
