88 in a 65 zone on I75 in Macon, Ga.

Heading back to Florida through Macon County , Georgia on
I 75 south bound...and got a speeding ticket for 88 in a 65
zone ( was a 75 zone ..but for this section I was in and didn't realize)

Was driving a silver 98 GTS..and the cop got me with Laser..
The second my detector went off .....it was all over..and this
guy was NOT interested at all in Vipers...this guy loved the
fact he got me.

Any Way...anybody know a good lawyer contact
in Georgia..that can help me with this ticket????????

If you elect to go to court to fight your ticket, remember that the burden of proof lies with the officer. All you have to do is demonstrate that his allegations may be flawed. For example, the typical radar gun must be calibrated (with a tuning fork) after every traffic stop. Ask to see documentation of his calibration; his word won't do. Unless he can produce his paperwork, completed to your satisfaction, he can't make his case.

Remember too that speed detection devices (radar) are not infallible. You may wish to argue that you simply weren't doing the speed he alleges.

Weigh the time spent in court verus a problematic resolution and you may wish to pay the fine.

So far no response, except for 3 wi/ the first 30 sec asking what I was doing in GA?! I will drop a line to a SC lawyer friend as well...
