My curiosity is getting the better of me...
I ran into a guy at the local cruise-in that just picked up a 96 B/W GTS, looked all stock right down to the original tires. He bought it about 3 weeks ago and admittedly knows nothing about Vipers.
I was checking out his fog lights to see if they were cracked (like mine are) and they weren't. BUT....noticed this odd thing I hadn't seen before. Drilled/cut into the fascia were these two 'slots' right in front of the fog lamps (well, about 2 inches out, but definitely within the fog lamp housing area) that looked like this:
There was no scratching/swirls that hinted of something being bolted on. Anyone know what purpose they may have served? Poor man's tow hooks? I admit, I have seen very few 96's B/W's up close, and even if others had had them, I doubt I would have noticed them before.
Side note - I believe I was able to talk him out of adding an after-market wing to the back and convince him to invest in newer tires (wrote down the URL for PartsRack for him).
