In the middle of the back 1.5 mile back straight probably at about 120ish there, top speed is 145.

Actually - its about a mile, you come out of oak tree in sencond gear and hop on it. And your top speed can be 155 MAYBE 160 - before you have to do that pesky brake and turn thing or else you launch yourself into the trees.....

VERY cool.

For those of you that dont recognize Cobra4b - his situation was best explained by UNRATLD:

"Cobra4B reminds me of the guy who marries a woman based on practicality as opposed to passion. He followed his head, not his heart, and then stupidly mires in his dissatisfaction for the length of his marriage, never able to understand why he isn't happy. I mean, he SHOULD be happy, the choice of his wife made sense, didn't it? He continually looks hungrily at other women, and when asked why he does it he can always list reasons why his woman is better, but can never tell you why he can't stop looking.

He either has Viper envy or Vette remorse - perhaps a combination of the two. Probably an innate personality flaw. If he bought a Viper, he would regret not having a Porsche. If he had a Porsche, he would lament not having a Ferrari.

PhilC had it right. Every single one of Cobra4B's posts is trollish in nature. He never comes here just to discuss Vipers. He comes to discuss Vipers in relation to Vettes, as if anyone here gives an airborne crap. But to make his already irksome personality even more annoying, he will never admit to being a troll and always tries to veil his Vette posts in a faux legitimacy by mentioning a Viper is a subtle, negative way.

He is a troll. He may not realize this, in the same way many men insist they love their wives, even while actively sniffing around other women. What he wants from this forum is either for Viper owners to tell him his wife (Z06) is just as good, nay BETTER than their wives (Vipers) or failing that, he will simply use it as an outlet to vent his unhappiness over his own depressing choice in the form of poorly disguised slights against better women. Err cars. I've become lost in my own sea of metaphors.

Anyway, pity him. And remember that pitying someone does not preclude one from hating that same person. I, for example, both pity and despise Cobra4B and would really like him to just slink back to the Vette boards where he can discuss his Z06 along with the other 300,000 Vette owners. But he won't, because that isn't what he wants. He just hasn't come to terms with his desires yet.

Cobra4B, why don't you buy a Viper so you can start frequenting the Porsche boards?"

Funny how a confused vette guy has a name of Cobra?

Yep I'm a ******' troll... I was at a Viper event so I threw up some of my pics.

Janni if you're hitting 155/160 you must be braking very late. I know the viper has a bit more top end over 140, but even when I rode w/ John Freeman in the black ACR we mad it to 152ish tops. I've hit my revlimiter in 4th gear (145) then brake to make sure I don't miss that turn in...

I have some sweet video of me chasing that black SRT behind me in the first pic. It was a great matchup, we had one good drag race down the front straight and he pulled at most car on me, I was surprised that I stayed on him that well. I'm going to edit the vids then eventually post them up.

Cobra4B -
I was talking about the race guys on Hoosiers - they are all going to 5th gear both there and on the front straight. Don't have the MOTEC data from the Comp Coupes to know exactly how fast they are going before braking at the top of the hill, but it's up there in 5th gear.

The straight is nearly a mile long, and you're entering it at some speed, and you are barely hitting 140 mph? Something doesn't seem right. 150 - 160+ MPH are hit on the straight at willow springs and I'm not sure how long it is, but it looks like it is way less than 1/2 mile (granted, you're entering the straight on a banked turn.)

Remember, he's only in a vette, 140 is probably about right if Vipers are hitting 155-160.

The VIR back straight is almost 1 mile long, but it is up hill and you need to leave a bit of room to slow down to make the 90 degree off-camber downhill left hand turn!

Let's see if my original assesment of Cobra4B still holds true:

First pic: Vette leading two Vipers
Second pic: Vette
Third pic: Vette
Fourth pic: Vette
Fifth pic: 2 Porsches, 2 Vettes, 1 Viper
Sixth pic: Vette
Seventh pic: Vette

(that's an 8:3 Vette:Viper image ratio with none showing a Viper in the lead)

And what I wrote about him a few months back: "...to make his already irksome personality even more annoying, he will never admit to being a troll and always tries to veil his Vette posts in a faux legitimacy by mentioning a Viper in a subtle, negative way."

A Viper is never in the lead in those photos, and the first photo is of his Vette leading a couple of Vipers. I'm sure the photo order wasn't intentional... He's always sure to mention a Viper in a subtle, negative way.

His quote from this thread: "Yep I'm a ******' troll... I was at a Viper event so I threw up some of my pics."

He will never admit to being a troll.

And then there is the simple fact that this is a Viper board. Who gives a crap about Vette photos here? Here's a crazy idea: GO POST CORVETTE PICS AT THE CORVETTE FORUM!

He is here specifically to troll. He's merely low key and thinly veiled, but a pure troll nonetheless.

He is the biggest troll on the net, remember when the vette won spike tv's americas favorite sports car. He made a post that said "guess who won america's favorite car? That's all, Im outta here. He is always looking for something to make fun of a viper. guess what buddy, I can get a used vette at a kia dealer. That's how rare they are.

I'm hitting 145 leaving plenty of room to slow down b/c my main goal is to drive my baby home, not set record laps. Like Janni said it's the race cars getting over 150 b/c w/ hoosiers they can come off oak tree quite a bit faster, one local aquaintance in his ACR wasn't pulling me on the back striaght at all it was a dead heat so he wasn't over 150 either. Also the straight goes uphill for most of the 2nd half, not like a mile long runway.

4Cobra, that's the great thing about a Z06 they don't take much skill, anybody can drive them.
Yep, they're idiot proof.. going the the Panoz school and doing over 10 DE's is of no help to me... it was a waste of money. Actually you just put the car in comp mode and drink a beer while it does everything. Actually, it's nice to have something there to step in and save your ass if you get crazy. I personally saw three Vipers go off track in my sessions alone, one on the second lap of the first sesion.

I thought you had to be 21 or older to enter these events. How's 4cobra qualified?
I'm 22 so it's all good, I just squeezed in.

I'm smart, buy you give me too much credit. I'm not being subtle at all, if I wanted to be an ass I'd just say Vipers **** and leave it at that. These photos were taken by a local Viper/4x Corvette owner Jeff. He came up in his (new to him) blue/silver GTS to watch. He sent them to me yesterday. I have 100's of pics but they were taken on my brother's camera, he's burning me a CD and sending to me, I'll have more Viper pics for ya.

Well if it isn't Cobra4B...

Still giving himself a ****** by posting pictures of his Z06 on the Viper forum.

I'm telling you man, you need to get a girlfriend. It would help you greatly with your insecurity problems.

Troll?
I don't think so - yes he was at a Viper Days event and posted his pics and talked about having a good time - where is this more appropriate - here of at CF? That's right, here.

And finally - the better question is - He was at Viper Days learning to drive his car better, where were the rest of you????

Cobra - looking forward to seeing you at the track again soon.

Well, I'm sure there's a reason why you can buy NEW Vettes over here along with Opels at the same dealer.

And why not posting Vette pics on this board??
I don't see any problems with that...

"Troll? I don't think so..."

Definitely. He wavers between subtle and outright flamboyant, but he's definitely a troll. If you haven't read his past posts, do a search for them. That should prove it beyond all doubt.

I'm surprised at you, Janni. A fellow tarheel so easily snowed ;)

(I went to UNC - Chapel Hill) :2tu:

Was a sophomore the last time we won the nat'l championship. I'll never forget that night :headbang:

How can he be "trolling" if he's posting pics of something HE DID, at a Viper event? He was complimentary about the event and the people, said he had a good time, etc. What's wrong with posting pics of his car? Do you shoot a ton of pics of other peoples car? No - you shoot your own.

He also talks about a "sweet GTS" and "chasing some very fast cars", etc.

Again - Cobra - glad you have a good time - we enjoyed having you guys there.

I'm not that easily snowed, but I can think for myself, and base my judgements on what I have SEEN - personally - the vette guys were great to have there - ViperDays was happy, they were happy and I'll bet there are a couple of Vipers sold due to the event.

I don't shoot either, actually. But if I did, I wouldn't post pics of my Viper on the Corvette/Porsche/Ferrari boards unless I was specifically trying to instigate a flame session.

As for his trolling, just check here, here, or here. If that doesn't convince you, nothing will. The guy should be living under a bridge.
