The Tire Rack is the exclusive North American importer for OZ Racing products which allows us a unique position to offer product input with management at OZ Racing. Over the years we have been trying to get them to build a Viper fitment but, have always been met with a good deal of resistance. Well, we have finally been able to break through that resistance with some help from a sizable commitment made by JonB at Partsrack.
So, the real work got started several months ago. The designers and engineers felt that the Allegerita design as well as the Ultraleggera design would not be the best to use on a 13" wide rear wheel so, they designed a new wheel just for this application. All of the computer modeling, stress testing, and behind the scenes engineering has now been completed. The prototype has also been reviewed by some of the fine folks over at Dodge
We now have received the final product. Yes, the first OZ Racing Comp has arrived! So, I thought I would snap a few pics with my digicam to share with the VCA.

18x13 rear
pricing in the $2100 - $2400 range (not set in stone yet)

A look inside the high technology design and manufacturing facilities of Ruote O.Z. Racing s.p.a. in Italy will unveil what it takes to create an O.Z. Racing wheel that is a winner on the highway and the race track. Each stage of production focuses on creating a stronger, more beautiful wheel.
O.Z. Racing never compromises on quality and complies with all official regulations of their client countries, including the stringent rules of T.U.V., the German control office. O.Z. Racing constantly submits their wheels to multiple comprehensive testing to measure road stress. And to detect minute flaws, wheels are put under pressure in a specially designed water tank and scanned for hidden flaws by X-ray. Further examination is done by computer and electron microscopes. Finally, an anti-corrosion treatment is given, followed by a protective lacquer coating and final cleaning.
Every O.Z. Racing wheel combines elegant design, the latest manufacturing technology and scientific precision to create a winning harmony between the beauty of form and the quality of function that is the trademark of O.Z. Racing.
