ACR driving lamp delete/vents?

An excerpt from the specs for the 1999 ACR:
"Deletions: Driving lamps (replaced with vents)"

I don't have any vents only "plugs". Anyone else ever have the vents on theirs?

Plugs from factory.
They can be removed and replaced with ducts.
There have been numerous posts re: brake ducts.

If they are not covered, the ACR loses about 6mph in top end speed due to the nice fricken reduction in aerodynamics.

This is what Tom Sessions (Viper Tech for us Carolina types) has told me...

There are indeed cool-looking after-market aluminum cone-shaped, screened vents. ($130) Yes, the outlet is basically directed at a tire, but BRAKE DUCT HOSE takes the air elsewhere!

The 'rumor' is that Dodge saw Viper Days competitors removing the fog lites, and using these holes as brake duct inlets. So Dodge decided to add them to the ACR. Cheap, easy, cool looking. Race tested.

When Dodge did some wind-tunnel tests, they discovered NO PRESSURE in this area above 50 mph or so. And therefore little drag, either, til about 150 mh....

Dodge opted for a $1990 piece of Vapor-ware, and then a $1129 piece. Requires removing a large section of air-dam skirt below the facia. Leave the track and go agricultural? Ruin the duct.

ENTER the CCC Brake Duct Kit, June 2002, using grill intakes in a high-pressure location, direct-thru 3" hose, and outlet nozzles that effectively cool front brakes for under $400. Way under $400 for VCA members. Stay tuned!

Seems a bit silly to convert, the "duct" blows about straight into the tread of the tire.
