Added two more strakes on the diffuser

Wanted to do something different to my 09 Coupe, so added two more strakes to the rear under pannel diffuser. Always thought it might look a bit more finished.
Had a guy make me up a couple in aluminum, ($65)

Think it turned out pretty well, and looks factory. Just a bit more intense than stock.

APR diffuser comes with extra strakes as well, costs a bit more though for the extra strakes. Too bad you did not let me know, I could have just let you have strakes from OEM diffuser

They are a bit pricey but yes, they are very nice and very light as well. I know since I have one on my car.

Did you cut slots for the tabs to go through like the OEM ones or just "bolt them on"

I got them from Chris Reese. [email protected] He does hydrodipping and makes lots of aftermarket parts.

Rec'd them just a couple days after ordering.

They are aluminum, and have a very high quality finish. Better than the OEM. Believe he could make them in carbon fiber look as well.

I removed the lower valance (held on by a douzen phillips head sheet metal screws)

Used the strakes to mark the area where the slots needed to be cut out and used a rotozip to make the slots.

By using the slots the installation is much stronger, with metal tabs on both sides if the valance.

Attached the strakes with some pop rivits and put the valance back on the car.

Kind of a fun DIY project. Only special tools needed were a pop rivet tool and something to make the slots. Could use a dremel, router, drill bit, or even a chisel to make the slots. Valence is a composite plastic that cuts pretty easily.

Took me a couple hours, but could do it again in 45 minutes.

I cleaned up the valance with some WD40 and it made it look like new.
