Air Intake Modification

It seems that the K&N intake (for a gen III) is very popular among forum
members. The kit seems to include the smooth 'Y' air bridge from the filters
to the throttle body. Is this mod worth getting. Is their a better one out
on the market.

Also, the black plastic piece in the hood scoop (which I assume is more
for preventing water ingestion than air directing airflow). Is it easy
to remove. It seems as though the air will flow better with it removed.
(I am not concerned with water consumption.)

Thank, Chris

actually dont take off the rain shield as that the majority of the air to the intake comes from the grill/radiator opening. if yo look closely at where the intake tube/airbox opens up to under the hood. the K & N has proven to give 12-15 rwhp

1) Buy the K & N set up, it works.

2) Take the black plastic piece out of the hood scoop. It is simple and will help air intake.

Enjoy your car.
