From 99 to 2002 ACRs 99 had the headers, in 2000 they lost the cam and lifters also. I am pretty sure, may be Viper Jeff can find out. I am taking gen 2.

I can tell you whatever you'd like to know about Gen II ACR's. I've had two. The only ACR specific engine difference was the front timing cover assembly. The ACR variant used a specific non by pass oil filter adapter. All other differences are based on model year Viper and carried into all models. As an FYI,
codes...

ACR = Competition Group

CG5P = 5 Point Restraint Driving Belts
SDKP = Competition Suspension
XHPP = Dash Plaque
NNLP = Low Restriction Air Cleaner
WPEP = 18" Aluminum Silver Wheels
LN8P = Delete Fog Lights

AGF = Comfort Group (this added back the Air Conditioning as well as the Radio)

HEAP = Air Conditioning
REAP = Premium Alpine Stereo Radio

These are some, but not all the codes associated with an ACR opton package.

So I guess I am right about the headers, only 1999 ACRs had them. 1998 and 99 were the only gen2s to have them.

I'm sorry, maybe I'm being too vague. All Vipers regardless of type from as you say 1998 have tubular exhaust. This means ALL ACR's have the tubular exhaust headers. Not sure how else to say this. If that's difficult to understand I can show you pics in detail of my 2000 ACR"s exhaust.

I think what he is trying to spit out is that all production 98 -02 had the lighter weight tubular headers, which replaced the heavier cast iron headers on all pre 98 Vipers.

2001 factory OEM headers with real tubes: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dodge-Viper-Factory-Exhaust-Manifolds-2001-GTS-ACR/261780275185
They look like the ones on my '02 ACR did.

Any idea how many 2002 ACRs were built without comfort package??? Looking at a yellow with black stripes ACR without the comfort group, just want to make sure I know if it's legit!

Over the past few days I've realized just how much (regarding ACR's) I don't have done.

For 2002, those listed in the Competition Group, I show 8 that don't have the comfort group listed in there build details.

Graphite Metallic Clear Coat 4 (1) No stripe (3) Silver Stripes

Viper Race Yellow Clear Coat 4 (1) No Stripe (3) Black Stripe

I've considered a book. Just not sure I have enough information compiled yet to make it worthwhile. That and it would probably be 5 books, one for each Generation.

Is this the one located in FL. with the black wheels?

It was in New Mexico I believe, but yeah had black wheels and an aftermarket cd player. something like 4000 miles. I figured getting rid of the wheels and putting stereo back to stock could be worth the effort!

It's very simple to know if a car is legit. Get the VIN and go to a dealer (Dodge) and have them run it. Every detail of the car is there. Unlike the old days where so much of the info. was not available from the OEM's. ACR's will without a doubt in my mind become the most valuable Gen II's down the road. Unlike other Vipers, every ACR bit will need to be in tact, particularly the wheels. My money would be on a non comfort package car.

I know the car very well. The original owner had a high end sound system installed when new. If you need more info send me a pm.

Jeff, I guess the good news is that your numbers for 2002 matched Jays (8). I believe I spoke with him a while back and he felt those were correct but knowing for sure would be cool.

In your data do you also get the VINs? Would also be cool to see how many are still around (no comfort cars). I am guessing maybe a Carfax on them could show the ones that were totaled? I think I knew of 2 that were reported totaled on here but my memory is not what it used to be. Do you know the 2001 breakdown? Are you only seeing 4? Thanks

Yes I have the VIN's (that's what I collected first, the data was second)

I use https://www.nicb.org// when checking for stolen or totaled vehicles. The only set back is I can only do 5 lookups a day.

I'll have to check and see what I have for 2001, there's a lot in that year I don't have done. I have a bunch of data, just haven't had time to dig through it.

On that note, one of the reasons I've held back on what I see with the ACR's. My data and Jays data are close, however, not exact. so I don't want to rush through it and post information that is different unless I pretty damn sure.
